i agree with whats been said already. i have shown my car a few times and it gets pretty boring walking around the show for 6 or 7 hours and being stuck there so a lounge is a very good idea. and i like the idea of having standards for the cars. i hate going to shows and seeing 30 "off the showroom floor" mustangs and camaros, if i wanna see stuff like that ill drive down the street or go to a dealer, make the cars interesting to look at. and i think its great that you just wanna put on a show for the sake of putting on a show. not to make money

Why not do a kick ass Charity car show---we could donate all proceeds t the sick kids hospital? you would for sure get a great turn out as iam sure the media would cover a charity event.

    Just a thought

Only I don't know how this type of thing works, I think technically they consider it to mean after bills and staff are paid? I'd be cool with not even paying the staff, they can have it all, I don't care.

This is getting pretty serious I got like 10 volunteers and some sponsors already asking to get involved. Plus a few other crowds that want to coordinate dates with other events and offering venues they have.

I think we need to get everyone together one evening or on a weekend, preferably in the next few days, to try and coordinate who's going to look after what and what skill set everyone has.

Is there anyone here that has a private meeting space we could use for this? I got my house but I'd rather have something a little more central.

I have a friend of mine who has quite a few old muscle cars and one really nice exotic. I'll see if he's willing to put his car/ cars in the show.

Why not just hold it at a place like Stanley Park?

No admission charges, minimal vendor involvement and make the show actually about cars and for the people building them.

The reason DTP and similar tuner shows have failed is because they try to cater to too many people. The cars almost take a back seat to car models, video games, DJ competitions, fashion shows, beauty pageants, vendor booths selling non-car related stuff and other misc add-ons.

There is a reason that shows in the vintage hot rod scene are stronger than ever because they have dropped the side stuff and have gone back to the basics making it just about cars.

Billetproof is a great example of this.

Anyone who is able to help donate their time or services and hasn't already posted in this thread nor messaged me, email me at the link in the first post. I want to get together next week and have a meeting with all organizers to find out who can do what and which resources we still need to cover. Even if you're only able to offer your time, that would be very much appreciated and you're welcome to come out to the meeting. If anyone has a venue we could use for said meeting that would be great but otherwise I guess we can meet at my house. Parking sucks and I have seating for maybe 2 people so I'd like to find somewhere else to host it.

If you have expressed interest already and I don't have your contact, please email it to me as well.

How's Race City for something like this? Someone said the roads aren't paved, it's dusty and the roads going in are terrible. Does that sound right?

uhh.... not really. yes the parking lot is gravel... but it dosent stop all the cars that are inches off the ground from racing there all summer

Race city's a shit hole.. Sure it's better than having nothing but damn, very poor maintenence on and around the whole facility.. And if it rains, most "low" cars will be screwed due to the awesome Indian dirt trails it has as "roads" and parkin lots lol

Go to the Exotic/Luxury Beyond cruise and ask around if any of the owners would be interested in having their cars in a show.

What about the Max Bell Center if they let us use it? Parking lot is huge with lots of space

you do realize that the road off of 114th was repaved not too long ago, and there is a paved entrance that runs all the way up to the stands? that is where you would want to display cars... no gravel. if there is too many cars, put them on the 1/4mile which is also paved straight from the entrance
