    Hilarious, I never noticed that!
The preorder went up early this morning (just after midnight) and they had mistakingly included it in the 25% off sale which Toys 'R Us is having on Transformers right now. The original price was $100 and I managed to purchase it for $75. Around noon today someone realized the mistake and changed the price back to $100 so the few of us that got in early got the discount. Sadly now it's not on sale any more which is a shame because the one they released a couple of years ago was $75 and went on sale for $60.

Hey Mar, I had a question. Is the 20th Anniversary DVD edition Optimus the same scale and quality as the MP-01?

Yes, I have that DVD edition. However that scale isn't being made anymore, MP-10 was released as a smaller scaled Optimus Prime and all of the new Masterpiece figures are in that scale.

There are 2 versions of Masterpiece Primes. Mp-01/04 and MP-10.

MP-01 / MP-04 (included the trailer) / 20th Anniversary Prime / DVD Edition 20th Anniversary Prime were all the same mold.

The primary difference between the US vs Japanese releases were the paint scheme / size of the shoulder stacks and the color of his rifle.

MP-10 / TRU exclusive Masterpiece Prime / TRU exclusive Year of the Horse Prime are the smaller molds.

You can see the size difference in my Masterpiece picture. The center Prime is YOTH and the one on the right is the 20th Anniversary Prime with replaced longer stacks.

I've recently gotten into the Masterpiece line and the third party figures so I thought people might be interested in seeing my new arrivals. A few people that customize and make their own Transformers have made some money with commissions over the last couple of years so third party companies have started popping up everywhere and creating unlicensed Transformers figures in a larger, more articulate mould. The figures are almost identical to the 1980s styles but much more updated and they can't use the licensed names so they just make up their own names for them so they don't get sued. They've become very popular and I think they're actually better quality than the licensed toys coming out.

Here is a group shot with Scoria from a company called Fans Toys, a 1984 Slag and a World's Smallest Transformer (WST) Slag released a couple of years ago.

And here's Scoria with an officially licensed Grimlock which you can buy at Toys 'R Us right now.

My 1985 Devastater and Giant Type 61 from a company called Make Toys.

    All 3

I completely renovated my home office around my Transformers, I did a quick count and there are over 350. All my vintage 1980s figures are in the glass cases and the newer stuff is on the shelves. All my officially licensed Masterpiece figures are on the bookshelf and the third party unlicensed figures are on the shelf next to those.

My Masterpiece and third party area.

All unlicensed third party figures on this shelf.

All my licensed Masterpiece figures. Except for Prime's trailer, that's an unlicensed released from JustIToys. I don't have the official trailer from Hasbro.
