Live Profile - Anyone Using Yet?

I don't see the point of Whats App and all that crap. I have them, but I always just go back to using the standard text messaging program. It sends messages. That's all that matters.

It has lots of potential, so hopefully they get it right soon.

Experiencing a ton of bugs - people being shown as unavailable, some messages going through, others just being shown as sent, other messages not coming through to me, I get a notification of a message but when I go into the app it doesn't show up, my notifications now say I have an unusual number of messages (i.e. 45) but I don't, etc.

Let's hope they fix all of this before people give up on it for good.

Oh one more pet peeve, I always turn my iphone sideways to type cuz the keys are bigger, I tweeted it and LiveProfileHelp responded and said it's coming in the next update. That'll be a huge help for me.

Whatsapp is way more refined, can send contacts,location,pics,vids anything. I'm pretty sure they will eventually add file sending too. It's cross platform too but the only thing missing is pin but what do you need that for if you have the persons number...

i used it a bit today, i like it but nothing tells me that i have a new message. i have to scroll to my page with the actual icon on my springboard and check if there's a little number indicating that i have a new message. they definitely need to have a pop up like the standard text messaging system.
i'm sure they'll work out the bugs sooner or later.

i use whatsapp cause it's free (well just uses data) and i text alot from Australia to Canada right now.

is LiveProfile the same to Whatsapp in regards to being free/using data vs alloted text message amount?

aahhh wtf... the delete friends function is broken on berry... i just added someone from my phone book that i do not know... 0 mutual friends on facebook, now they are stuck on my contact list

I tried KIK for a while but then I downloaded whatsapp and its way better, I love it can send files, contact, voice notes.... havent tried this new one yet though but since all the ppl I wanna talk to are already on whats app why change?

I noticed that it goes down quite frequently, but honestly, with the speed at which it's growing, I went from 1 friend on monday, to 23 today, and that's not even adding everyone I know that has it.

My biggest issue is no landscape support on iPhone.

Only thing missing is better use of status updates and profile pics.

its annoying people always spamming fb with live profile accounts and stuff, honestly if I don't have your phone number to text, call or whatsapp, I'm probably not gonna be talking to you even if you had live profile.

I fail to see the difference between this and all the other cross platform chat applications. I use gtalk and it works great, is free, and has a PC application for it as well.

However, it does need an update to include mobile to mobile picture sending and read reciepts. Other than that, it is identical to BBM or all of these other ones.

Just typical tech boom of the new decade. They tried to get critical mass then they tried to get paid. If not from users, then they'll try ads or selling user data.
