Mike's 2005 ES1 Civic build! Journey of a ricer.

She came into my life on Feb 1st, 2005. A brand new Satin Silver Metallic 2005 Honda Civic Se with the "R" package that came with the optional spoiler and 14" wheels.

Till this day, it's still my most favorite car I've owned. Since then went through many "Type R" badges,neon lights, wheels and ABS plastic front lips together... Despite it being automatic, having a gutless 1.7 NON VTEC motor, I still have a lot of fun driving it.

It all began looking like this: Taken in April 2005





and then i hit my RICER stage... in the summer of 2005.
I got crazy buying anything that said "Type R" or " Type S" in it.



YEAH!!!




Then Winter of 2005 hit and Need for speed underground 2 was a hit during the time and in my opinion any car without neon and lighting wasn't cool and there we go:




Then came the snowfall and my first instints was to make this a rally looking car so i got mudflaps. not just any mudflaps. These.. Were Mugen!

2007 Popped in and the rice list went further:
White vinyl trim kit:






Then i removed the "Special Edition" "Type R" badges and replaced it with an "RS" because itz JDM Y0000!

Then i took of the stock shifter and replaced it with a ractive boot and a MOOGAN automatic shifter

Bought my first pair of rims from a friend in feb 07:
old school Tenzo R AV7s


The came my DC5-R replica spoiler because i wanted the Lancer Evo look

drove it on without paint for months

Fall came in: and painted my interior white:




and this was the end of 2007

Then 2008 came in and that's when my car started making progress, my ricer stage has gone and now I'm entering the JDM-rice stage

I love my Honda!

wanted to be more JDM so i painted the Tenzo Rs bronze, turned out great!



Painted my door moldings ghetto style, turned out great


My first Mugen front lip and carbon fiber canards



Spring came in and that meant my wheels are on


unfortunately the snow hit again and i became the neighborhoods snow shovel

The the car started taking shape and less tacky:

Then 2009 slipped in and car started looking a bit better:


Gutted my interior and threw on some no name buckets

i shouldn't have put on my lip with the fart can. it melted the lip a bit

sprayed my factory rims flat black and pinstripped the rim:




then sold my tenzo AV7s and got a set of tenzo R sinkos from a friend.

Redid my door panels back to black and put on red suede:



Winter 09 came and i got the car back into winter mode

2010 was a long year for me as i started having project cars here and then but my love for my civic was still the same

Now that it's 2011 its been 6 years with my civic

Just brought my car out of storage and already got a bit of parts here and there.

and this will be my project this year i will be attempting to fit a DC5 mugen bumper on my car. It'll probably take months with all the body work but i think it'll turn out great:

wow... really bad at first a bit better later on but still really bad.

This coming from a guy who really doesn't spend any money on looks and more on enhancing overall performance.

Please get rid of the seats, crappy paint on the dash and crappy replca pieces like the front bumper that doesn't fit..
