Go see all of the wonders of the world.

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100

While doing a search for something else, I came across quite a few things around North America that really aren't that expensive for the entertainment. What are some things you've done or want to do that you would recommend to me?
Please don't say travel, it's too vague. If travel is your answer, be specific with something I should see. And I'm open to anything worldwide.
I'll add them to the list:
- skydiving (done)
- lapping exotics at Vegas Speedway - http://www.exoticsracing.com/Racing-...experience.htm
- elephant tour in India / Africa
- play soccer with some poor kids in Africa
- eat the $150 cheeseburger on Wall Street
- heliboarding in the Alps?
- I'd really like to take a dogsled team through the Alberta back country for a weekend
I did Haleakala in Maui, was a pretty amazing experience.
I grew up in the Newfoundland back country, I could navigate an aerial map before I could ride a bike. And my brother runs the Adventure Tourism program there now so he'll take me through the Long Range Mountains anytime I want to go. I guess if something is more accessible, you end up putting it off.Originally posted by thrasher22
Really do everything physically strenuous or reckless. Go to Alaska and do some mountaineering!
This seems pretty cliche, is it actually that impressive? I really like the suggestion, I just think there are far better things to see if traveling across the globe, maybe I would change my mind if I was standing on it. Hard to really imagine.Originally posted by Sugarphreak

How much different is this than the Rockies? Standing on the top of Mount Standish at Sunshine has a similar view when there are low clouds, it's beautiful. And I see that every weekend.Originally posted by 89coupe

Jesus man, I know you like Transformers, but you need to get out more. No one should get this upset over a movie based on children's toys.
South America is awesome.
You can get that same view on a super foggy day in Vancouver. Get up high in West Van above the fog when there is no clouds. Nice and sunny, still slightly cold (do it in winter so the sun doesn't burn off all the fog) and downtown Van looks like cloud city. Say what you want about drugs, but I experience that on mushrooms... Absolutely amazing. We stayed until the sun set and it was unreal!Originally posted by 89coupe

Go to the French Laundry in California. It's expensive ($275 per person, excluding booze and tip), but man is it worth it.

Haleakala is over 10,000 feet above sea level, and once you are above the cloud line its pretty sureal.Originally posted by Mar

I think you need to find a mountain that guarantees you are above the cloud line, cause it literally feels like you are on a different planet.
I've been to the top of a few mountains in the rockies and it doesn't have the same feel, not even close.
Sulphur mountain, Siler Tip & Mount Thompson, definitely not the same.
I suggest climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa, I heard its very challenging for the simple fact the air gets quite thin, it's quite amazing. It's 19341 feet above sea level.
I've had a few friends who have done it and they said it was a once in a lifetime experience.
