If you got the money to deck out a high performance vehicle with military-grade enhanced vision equipment and lidar jammers everywhere.... I'd say do it, then post up your story and pictures.

Something to brag about for sure..... (or just maybe in my demented world )

Demented indeed. I'm sorry, but driving that fast for those long hours is just asking for an accident. Now, kill yourself if you want, but putting others at risk for "fame" is just plain ignorant.

^ I'd take a co driver, I'd never recommend attempting that alone.

I've done Toronto to Calgary in 34hrs total trip time only stopping for gas... Did an average of 15 over the entire way > 32 hours coast to coast sounds a little too fast...

Well from Calgary to Toronto it's pretty wide open. We did the Winnipeg - Calgary run in about 11 hrs because of a few factors when we did our x canada road trip. From Winnepeg to Toronto it goes on foreeeever. Then tightens up into quebec and the maritimes. Not to mention Calgary to Vancouver is minimum 10 hrs, so I'd say its impossible to do the whole country in less than two days.

Not sure if you can count the ferry times on Vancouver Island and the Rock as being a part of "contiguous" Canada.

For me, it'd be a drive from Vancouver to Sydney NS.

    6100kms
3 days and 2 hrs according to google.

However, you can save 12 hours almost by cutting through the states.

    6000kms
    2 days 17 hrs.

Just to clarify: Alex Roy went from NY to California not in 32 hours, but in 31 hours, 4 minutes. There's a substantial amount of proof (tagalong by Jalopnik, punch clock). I highly recommend the book he wrote.

Maybe you should've done some digging about the OP before bumping this thread - OP hasn't posted since this thread and probably hasn't been around Beyond much as of late.
    Will fuck off, again.

Well I was killin time at work on the google, and this thread came up. Figured I'd bump the old, because If I didn't, your post would be lecturing me about how to use the search function.

Anyways... So, it looks like there is no official record set yet for a cross Canada drive?

Yeah, you can't win I suppose - but the OP appears to be dead to Beyond since this thread. Maybe the drive did them in?

Without any deductions, I did the Vancouver Airport to Calgary airport in a rental Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 in the summer of 1998 in about 7 hours and 45 minutes. That includes gas stops (cost me $74 in gas), and about a 20 min stop for lunch.

The whole trip I was going between 140-160kph.
