Default How to run ext desktop on MacbookPro and ext LCD

I have MBP and 24" LCD, I want to have ext desktop like i had in windows but when i plug in the monitor it will only keep the mouse in one mmonitor (cant move between the two). I googled it and was told to download this USB driver called Displaylink Mac but it did nothing.

Seriously? I just hooked up another monitor to my MBP last week... worked fine in both Bootcamp (win 7) and OSX.

I am not a Mac users but you need to change your display properties from cloned to extended desktop. Check in display settings. I think thats what you are trying to do.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood your question. Are you saying the desktop IS extended to the monitor its just that the mouse cant move to the extended bit?

System Preference -> Displays -> Click the detect displays on the bottom right corner.

Although simple, try moving your mouse to the left of the screen and the right.
