IMO some people really need to realize while they may own a section of land that doesn't mean they should be able to control everything in the surrounding area. It's starting to get a little too socialist being told you can't do this, can't do that, etc.
I agree.... think my post came across wrong. Unless they're willing to ban/ticket everything over a certain decibel level then leave it alone.

And get rid of the 'widened exhaust' BS.

That is far outside of their work hours so they will tell you to call police non-emergency.

Wonder how this would apply to loud "stock" cars, such as ferrari's? Maybe it wasn't stock, but I remember following a loud as hell 358 last summer. And he was just driving normally/speed limit in traffic.

I have had bylaw officers come to my place at 3am, I don't think they have business hours.

Widened exhaust is Provincial, noise bylaw with be City. No way the province is going to ditch it, just because Calgary has a new bylaw.

Any chance this will apply to that Fkn cop heli? Sweeping circles.... sweeping circles...., yes indeed it is 3AM. I need to move to the country and grow a lot of peaches.

Harleys are the worst, I sometimes hear my neighbours Masarati.... might be the best noise.

    Haha, no kidding.

Think I'll be moving to Okotoks soon anyway, I like working in the city but living here is starting to piss me off

Some fucking government bylaw clown was talking about this on the news this morning...... their three main concerns are aftermarket mufflers, semi truck brakes and boom box stereos.

Maybe I should attend their meeting tonight.

Tough part about the law is that currently it doesnt say whether dB is at idle, full throttle or say 3750rpm.

Everyone should come out and let their voice be heard. If you want you can be in and out in 5 min. They have 5 info boards up, and 2 sound stations. Funny thing is they are almost right next to each other so you get sound from both and a squed perspective. Lol.

But anyways it is quick in and out to have your voice heard. I traveled half way across the city to get here. The drive was longer then me filling out my 10 question survey and casting my vote.

Come tell them what you think!!

x2 why are they not publicizing this information?

My car is barely louder then stock at idle / under 4 K rpm..I hope I don't get a ticket for going WOT merging onto deerfoot when possible

I'm all for technology, but when technology works against me , I really hate it!! As long as I don't see T2 endoskeletons deployed with these

(v)"the sound of a diesel engine bus which has been idling or otherwise running continuously for more than three minutes at the same location except where the diesel engine bus is located within a garage or depot intended for its long term parking,"
Calling in everytime a city bus is blocking a whole lane for half an hour so the driver can get a big mac.

I figure you can be noisy as long as you are actually fast. Stupid I know. But that would eliminate all the losers being all loud about their 170HP honda.

lol no... The problem is that fast is a perception. I have no doubt in my mind that the guy I saw driving down 16th avenue thursday night in a POS black CRX with blue smoke billowing out the back running what I think was just an open header, actually thought his car was fast. How do I know? Well he kept mashing the gas and trying to rip around people like he was in a race car....

Your logic would mean if we sat down and looked at the performance numbers of calgary cars maybe 50 cars in Calgary could run louder exhausts (not that I see anything wrong with that!!!)

I'm looking forward to these being implemented. Dont know why so many people want to be "loud and proud"

Just curious, couldn't stock vehicles technically hit/pass the allowed limit?

I'm not against this law I just know it won't be enforced fairly. Bikes and cars will be targeted, diesel trucks and buses will be ignored. Buses annoy me more than cars, I find the Honda's more hilarious than they are annoying, but buses wake me up all the time when they cruise right through the 4-way stop by my house

If I have to add another resonator to my exhaust that's fine with me, it's the tone I like not the volume.
