    Default Driver side wheel puzzle

Something weird is happening to my Toyota again. I bought new set of all season tires, balanced and had them installed. Prior to swap I had strong vibration while driving on my front wheel, and I blamed it to tire being unbalanced. After the swap it does vibrate less obvious, but it also comes back harder after a left turn. Vibration is noticeable over 60 km/h, and after the drive is over driver side wheel smells like burnt rubber!? I just had oil&filter done with tire swap. Mechanic visually couldn't find anything that may look suspicious.

Any ideas, anything similar happened to anyone? Help would be greatly appreciated as always,

    Thx.

    caliper seized?

    would cause burn smell
    would cause vibration

rotor gets so hot.. warps it.. seized.. means brakes are always applied..

check the color of your rotor

see if it's dark blue feel your wheel after a long drive is it burning hot?

last year I had rotors machined and brake pads changed. but symptoms are definitely like you said, except for the color of the rotor. thx a lot, will take it to the shop tomorrow.

If you smell burning, then there is obviously friction. Friction leads to heat from the wear.

When you smell this, pull over and feel around the hub and caliper for excessive heat. You'll know it is excessive because the other side will not feel as hot. That should help you narrow down which area is causing the issue. If it is in this area, I would guess a sticking caliper as well.

If it is something to do with the tire itself rubbing, there must be obvious rub marks on the tire itself.

Sounds like time for some brake work and possibly a alignment..

If you do the alignment do both the front and back, save yourself the time.

Any growling noise with the vibration? Might be a bearing.
