Business Card Input

I'm thinking it would be a good idea to get some business cards made but I have no idea what to put on there other than my info since I don't work for a company yet.

Any professional ideas appreciated. Field is oil and gas, specifically in geology.

For me, I put my name, degree & institution (soo BA in something, something concentration, something minor), phone number and email.

Why not buy your name domain. Create a google profile, and forward the domain to it. Put the address on the business card.

It is a way to provide your contact info to potential employees and for networking purposes. At Columbia University grad school you get a box of 500 cards during the first week. You are expected to have them gone by the end of the two year program.

The cards are for networking at various events. It's nice to be able to swap cards and contact them later, meanwhile there is a potential they kept your card and have a higher chance of them remembering you. It's a personal thing but I think of it as being viewed more as a professional.

I laughed at the career fair when someone sauntered up to our booth and gave me a business card. It isnt MY job to chase you down for a job so I am not going to be emailing you.

I have cards to hand out for a reason. You want to work with us, ask for MY card and email me your shit.
