Potential 20-goal scored (scored 17 and 24 last 2 seasons). Hopefully he can bring some new energy...except it is notable he is 0 points and -11 in 16 GP this season. :S

Sending Byron down to the AHL again? He was having a good season so far.

Sounds like the perfect fit for this Flames team!Originally posted by toyboy88

Just blow it all up. Send Iggy to Boston so he can beat Pissburgh on the way to winning a Cup.
I like this pickup. At the very least there's a little more youth on the team. And he's obviously got some potential.
Hey, we miss Kotalik and this is the next best.Originally posted by masoncgy

I suppose this guy can't get any worse...
I figured out why the Flames picked him up....
"Comeau also helped lead Team Canada to a gold medal at the IIHF Under 20 World Championship, leading the team in points and was a key player for Head Coach Brent Sutter in all situations."

If Comeau plays well then we got a good player for free and that could help us in the future.Originally posted by masoncgy

At this point we don't know if the move will be good or not. But we didn't have to give up anything to get him so it is low risk and high upside.
not free.. we are paying 2.5mOriginally posted by ICEBERG

I hate to say it, but Calgary is like the 2nd chance graveyard. Look how many players have come in with the promise of reigniting their careers only to fail hard. There are few success stories out of many, many occurrences.
It's frustrating, to say the least.
Let's hope Comeau is the exception to the rule... I don't hold much hope though. Our problems are so much deeper.
Well Tangs has done pretty well here. I'm not expecting miracles from Comeau, but hopefully he's a decent addition.
He's starting tonight against STL is that right?

Just pack it in Flames. You guys suck!

The end of the third was brutal to watch. 3 missed shots in a row that were all great scoring chances. They flubbed 'em all. I hate ht close up shots of the players, they look so dejected.

Yup time to do an oilers and rebuild. Painful to watch that shit hockey they play. Cannot believe glencross wasnt watching in a suit, instead they send Byron down...
.
Reasons why Drumheller area wouldn't make a good race track venue...

The Flames roster is already maxed out (including healthy scratches). Byron was "sent down" because he was one of the few players who didn't have to clear waivers. The others being Horak and Brodie, I believe.Originally posted by m10-power

A trade will probably happen and/or a veteran gets assigned to the AHL where they have to clear the mandatory 24 hour waivers first.
A couple years late but it looks like the rebuild is finally starting whether management admits it or not.
They should have started the rebuild couple years back. They kept thinking they were 2 pieces away from the cup. Hopefully we can make a few trades and build toward the future and not get fleeced. Some young guys deserve the opportunity to play.
Comeau didn't look too bad though. He must be excited to go from playing in a top 30 team to a top 27 team
Comeau looked great on the ice last night. He adds something the Flames havent had in a while, younger talent that isn't afraid to play the body.
I noticed last night with Comeau on the ice and with him hitting more in the corners and while chasing the puck the rest of the Flames followed suite. Was nice to see.
Gotta admit, I was one of the masses naively thinking a rebuild is blasphemy for this team, but after seeing the product thus far, I'm ready to accept it. We're seeing the retooling already... Only a matter of time before the big ball drops.Originally posted by NightFX2

They gotta stop teasing us with a good game followed by a couple of bad ones for the sake of the future of this franchise. It's far too late to do an Oilers rebuild.
