    Default ChumpCar M POWER

    Hey guys, don't post much, but we're all super excited about the paint job our chumpcar just got and thought we'd share it.

    Car is a 1975 BMW 530i. It was pretty busted when we drove it down from Edmonton. It's come a long way!

    HUGE HUGE HUUUUUGGGGGEEEE shout out and thanks to Keith, Jay and Andre up at U Wrench. We could not have done what has been done to it without their help! Still a lot more to do before race day(s)!

    In original condition, car looked like this;

    .....with cage installed by So Much Win in Edmonton......

    Here's the look we were going for;

    ......and this, is what we had as of 6 PM last night :O

    Thanks guys.

    Keith from U Wrench painted it. It's definitely not as nice as he would have done for a car that's worthy of a new paint job, but in my opinion still looks AWESOME! We felt like it would be a waste of his time to give the car a full restoration type paint job. The shop put 30+ hours into the prep-work and paint job. All of the rust (one of the wheel arches was rotted all the way through!) was removed and any holes fibreglassed. You can't even tell (well, I can't at least) where it's been patched.

    ...and them being our primary sponsor, it (the paint job) along with the time we've spent at u wrench working on the car was FREE.

I even hitchhiked to the library once cuz my parents were too lazy to drive me haha. Ya, I'm a nerd.

    He does a damn fine job. He's showed me his photo collection of cars he's painted over the years and he's worked on some really nice ones.

    Thing is, he will prep and paint the car as if it were his own. If you want a GOOD job done on a restoration, he 's the guy.

    Thanks for all the compliments. This weekend is going to be hell trying to get the car ready for the race....should be fun though.

    If anyone wants to take a peak at it, it's sitting at u wrench. Just ask keith if you can take a look at the bimmer he painted.

    haha no kidding.....we're all afraid to drive it now. Keith has been pretty cool about it though, he told us that if we aren't rubbing doors with the other cars on the track we won't be racing and he'll find a new car to sponsor.
