yeah, considering the Recent nerf to inferno mode.

Here are the new damage values that will be hotfixed in for each MP setting:

MP1: 109.60% (down from 114%)
MP2: 120.12% (down from 130%)
MP3: 131.65% (down from 148%)
MP4: 144.29% (down from 169%)
MP5: 158.14% (down from 193%)
MP6: 173.32% (down from 220%)
MP7: 189.96% (down from 250%)
MP8: 208.20% (down from 285%)
MP9: 228.18% (down from 325%)
MP10: 250.09% (down from 371%)

reducing monster damage does not help me move to a higher mp just because taking their health down is key.

However I am getting thru mp5 painfully (not very efficient though)

Really? Wow that means I may be able to slowly farm MP6. It will just take me longer since my dps is only about 50k.

No one seems to be buying anything lately. Only sold some little 10-20k items lately.

In regards to the Armor vs Resist debate...

There are 2 very obvious differences. If you could get 95% reduction from armor , and then only able to acheive say 30% reduction in resistances, you'll be able to stand in a pack of skeletons and take MUCH less damage. But once one little imp throws a fireball at you its going to hurt MUCH MUCH more.

Goal is to get both, ideally. If you have the choice, IMO, bump up the one that is lacking.

For my monk, as an example, I've got 800 resist all. I dont remember the % reduction now, but its much higher than my armor. I've started to look for gear with +armor stat on them PLUS the resistances that are close to what I already have.

There's never a 'end all be all' in the armor vs resist fight...because every case is different.

ok so after finding out how elemental damage increase on the offhand actually adds to dps when I use a black weapon (weapon with no elemental damage) I decided to experiment.

I currently run a chantodo force with a wand which takes me to about 155k dps

I threw in a triumvirate with and a matching dps echoing furying (a 25m experiement, so )

my over all dps actually dipped to 140k from 155k,

so what gives? I thought the trivm off hand supposed to give me a 15-18% dps boost?

well for one thing, my wand had 87% critical damage where as the echo fury has LoS instead.

So here is my question, even if I find a echoing fury with similar damage/cd, I dont think I am reaping the reward of the 15-18% elemental increase to make it worth while

So what should I do? I really wanted to get LoS onto my main hand, but at the cost of 15k dps.

Not sure if I should stick with my chantodo force, beside my next wishlist items Zunimassa Trail and Tal Rasha Ammy (which can add to the elemental damage) both cost a fortune.

You have to Factor in that you're also losing 87% natural crit from your weapon, and 8% IAS from your offhand.

the IAS lost is not a worry since IAS is just inflated sheet dps numbers anyways. What's really hurting you is the critical hit damage loss.

100% from 187% is a massive loss when you're at 45% Crit Chance.
Once you get a pair of good Zunimassa boots, and a Decent Tal Rasha amulet, you'll quickly see the DPS gap close, and you'll still get your life leech.

The only Legendary 1h weapon to roll Natual Crit, Natural life leech%, get a socket as a roll, and be non elemental is the Butchers Sickle.


Despite losing 15k DPS, you're going to see a large gain in how you survive. I used to use a 1100 damage open socket Echoing, and It turned out taking a 16k dps at the time was better.

I went from 110k dps unbuffed to 94k, but I was dying about 200% less.

but as a wiz do I really want to be pulling people in close?

Probably not, but it hasn't killed me yet when Playing Archon Wizard.

Due to having high Crit Damage, my archon melee attack does nuclear damage compared to my friend OnSugarHill, so pulling in isn't a bad thing....in fact it has been nice time to time.

with 180k buffed DPS and 419% crit damage on 40% crit chance, I have seen that melee attack hit over 1 million. That's like a juicy nugget of HP when I pull that 1 enemy in for a massive melee bomb.


Also The Archon beam is a Channeling move so It can't proc the Sickle. I proc it in archon by spaming the melee skill a couple times.

Out of archon it can be problematic I suppose, but again with the life leech, it's not all that bad having 1 single nearly dead enemy get pulled towards me.

OMG I want that sooooo bad .. my rings and Ammy's are pretty bad since good ones are so expensive .

The other day I got denied joining an MP5 Uber group because my gear was terribad lol.

I have managed to change my build and upgrade a couple minor things to get my DH up to 63k DPS so things are dying faster. I sacrificed a bit of survivability to do it but just less DH tanking and back to a bit more kiting.

too bad I've just picked up a Tal Rasha Allegiance, otherwise that is a pretty good upgrade

Ive got my witching hour, Tal Rasha Ammy, and now if only I can get my hands on a pair of nice Zunimassa Trails and nice black weapon with life steal/cd/socket. then I will be ready to play my other classes

lol and here I thought I was getting better with 80k dps.

I have almost nothing selling this past week. Seems the gap between what people have listed in AH and what people are actually ok in paying has widened because I have undercut things by quite a bit and still nothing sells.

if you see me online give me a holler (assuming you run a wiz), I may have some gear that could help you. Most of the gear that I had when I was sitting at around 100k dps for the longest time wasnt able to sell, so they just sit in my stash.

Sounds good. I have a Wiz and a DH. I have better gear for my DH so have played it a bit more.

I think we have different play times. I am generally on late after 10 but I do see you on sometimes. I'll look for ya.

Question about gems...

Are you guys buying your gems or have you actually found the plans for the radiant star gems?

I am still picking up all of the perfect square gems I come across, but have yet to find a SINGLE plan for the star gems.

Should I just be buying gems instead?

Buy them now, the dupers made it MUCH more efficient to just buy.

I have made most of my gems though.
