Resurfacing Kitchen Cabinets

Right now I have cabinets in this style and in this color



I want to resurface them to a white color.

Options are

1. Remove finish myself and paint them white.

I want a solid white finish so I should be painting these and not staining them? I heard from a coworker that I shouldnt paint them cause it will turn out horrible. As far as I know you cant get a solid color from a stain so I dont think its what I want to do, just need another opinion.


2. Buy new cabinet doors and have professionals finish them. Just attach them myself.

How much should I expect to pay for each cabinet door completely finished?

Paint them.

I would opt to have them sprayed as my first choice. Those cabinets look to be in very nice shape, so do it right.

Of course, if budget is a concern, you can do it yourself if you are handy.

I've painted a number of different cabinet sets over the last few years and they have always come out very well. The trick is to take your time, prep the surfaces properly and use the right primer & paint.

Benjamin Moore's Aura line works really well on cabinets. Lays down completely flat with a brush or high density roller.

I'd still want to spray those though.

EDIT: I'm just realizing now this is a sample and not the exact cabinets. At any rate, still look at spraying them for the best results.
