Just a random faceoff picture of the first game... I've got some videos that I'm uploading to youtube that I'll post later.

Wouldn't see this in Toronto... Jets lose 5-1 to the Canadiens on opening night and receive a standing ovation. The Go Jets Go chants were as loud in the last seconds as they were in the first period.
Not to be rude, but you wouldn't see that just about anywhere in the NHL... not sure why you picked Toronto. Most teams don't lose their team and get it back after 15 years so I wouldn't expect to see that anytime in Toronto... or Calgary.. Or Montreal... well you get the point.Originally posted by Jlude

Pretty sure the Habs fans would boo the shit out of their team if they lost 5-1... Actually that does happen a lot.
True... being the first regular season game in 15 years was a big part of it.
Sputnik better get that $5 ready...
Got tix to the season opener in Phoenix, should be a good match.
You mean it's the only part.Originally posted by Jlude

Almost brought a tear to my eye that game. Looks like the jets got Toronto's defenceman from last year. GO JETS GO.

I guess we'll see if it continues and if so, how far.Originally posted by lasimmon

You were probably trying to make a crack at Torontos regular attendance, in the lower bowl who are all wearing suits eating sushi which I agree. Unless the game is super exciting and crazy no one gives a shit. (Unless they only paid 200$ for their tickets and are sitting in the nosebleeds.)Originally posted by Jlude

It'll continue for the year maybe 2, then it'll become regular to have a hockey team and it'll be like Calgary/Vancouver type is my guess. Still sell out every game and be loud but won't be standing ovations after a 5-1 shit kick. Hahah
haha I agree with you. Winnipeg has been starved of hockey, but only time will tell if they stand by the team.

Uh oh. Exciting game for wednesday! Going to hurt, need a Leafs win but want to see Jets do well. I guess I can look it it as win win, regardless of outcome. Hopefully OT so points for both.
Last period of the Pens / Jets game tonight was intense. Could never guess it wasn't a playoff game with the atmosphere with the high stick penalty and fighting at the end there and the end to end breaks. So good to have the Jets back.
Should have really been 2-0 for the Jets (over the Pens) considering the blatant goaltender interference during the Penguins lone goal.
Good to see Pavelec have a good game.

Hopefully the Coyotes will PLAY a game next season.
Lets go Nor-diques!
by far the best hockey game I have every attended!
Jets are second in the SE, above .500 and did it by beating the Bruins.
Go Jets Go!
Looks like you don't need $7-8 million players to win hockey games.
I wasn't there, but everyone said the MTS Centre was the loudest it's ever been. Big confidence booster, beating the defending champs, especially while they're on such a run.Originally posted by sputnik

Say the Jets do make the playoffs, do you think they'll go far?Originally posted by sputnik

probably not... and not even worth talking about it yet. They're not there yet and there's lots of hockey to be played.
Any you guys going for Teemu's return?
