Default best way to reduce dust in basement?

What should I use to paint the basement floor? Sealer/acrylic/epoxy?

There wont be a lot of traffic, so it doesn't need to be heavy duty like garage floor as long as I don't have to redo it every year it's fine.

My other concern is when I develop my basement in the future, it would suck to have to strip it for whatever flooring I decide to use. I already know where the bathroom will be so I'm going to leave the area alone.

It would be nice to be able to develop the basement the way I want it right now but I don't have the coins required lol.

It's just the dust on the floor. It'll be nice to be able to walk down there without the white dust stuck on my feet.

I'm going to clean it with TSP and paint it. I'll see how it goes.

My plan is to use laminate for flooring in the future so I don't need to glue it down. How hard is it to level the floor without using grout? It's not too bad now but it's not perfectly level.

My dad is painting mine soon, but we are almost done the development. Just some cheap gray paint. We are only painting it so that the cement dust doesn't come up, but will be layering the carpet on soon after. I think just about any paint will do, not sure thought.

There is a thick grey glossy paint that most people use to seal their cement floors in the basement. Cuts out the dust and is easily washable if something spills/waterproof.

I would not use just "any" paint but I am sure if you went to a hardware store they would know what you were talking about. It is very durable, we had it in part of our unfinished basement and it never needed to be re-done in 13 or so years we lived there and we had our laundry room there, dog room in the basement etc. etc.

Washed and rinsed half the basement, so clean that nothing is on my hand after putting it on the floor. So freaking cold though lol.

Gonna wait a couple days for it to dry completely before painting it. I bought a bunch of acrylic latex floor paint. Didn't think I need epoxy, it's not going to be a lot of traffic. Can't wait to have dust free basement.

After we painted our basement floor the dust in the house got a LOT better. Our homebuilder actually told us to do this when they did a walk through.
