Default Here we go again.... C63 vs M3

After watching Fast Five, I realised that I really really really want a V8. And the fact that im a car whore. People who had to make this decision in past, which is the way to go?

looking at either an e92 m3 or C63.
    I know M cars CPO are 5.9%
C class CPO are currently 1.9%

I've never owned an auto, will i get bored with the c63?

I can't comment on the car itself, but unless you drive in rush hour downtown traffic, you WILL get bored with an automatic. If you do drive lots of stop and go, you probably won't mind it.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

    Haha, isn't it obvious?

by the way C63 tunes just dropped to $500.

An extra 50whp for $500! I don't think you can get that elsewhere.

If you're going to drop 80k on a car, why not get a Porsche or something? It's not like you don't have a DD...

I read in the latest road and track that there is a new C63 AMG coming in 2012. there will be a two door coupe version as well. and for getting bored with the automatic. just step on the gas and that will make everything better!

    A loud V8 drifty couch...

Every magazine I've read points to the M3 being absolutely brilliant. I still think that I would pick the Merc for the muscle fun factor and lack of BMW douchebaggery.

    C63!

I was at LoneStar test driving the GLK with my dad and thought just for fun I go look at the C63. Such a nice car haha

I don't know but BMW's don't really do it for me anymore. I use to love them but I love Ben-See now. LOL

    Depands on what you want...

M3 is the better track car, some people complain about a lack of TQ out of the 4.0L but i believe that it is just fine. M-DCT is the only tranny to get in this car. EDC is worth every penny. great DD IMO. 2 or 4 door options

C63 is a TQ monster, great if you need to pull tree stumps. exhaust note cannot be beat. The car is hard on tires and limited tire sizes is Understeer is a problem. C63 wins the drag race. limited to 4 doors in the used market.

Styling is personal choice i find the C63 ugly but that is me. Both are terrible on gas be prepared to pay at the pump.

You coming from an E92 I think the jump to an M3 would probably make sense since the overall feel/quality would be the same. I like the M3 Coupes but when it comes to the sedan I think the C63 just looks a lot classier. I also don't see as many of them, M3's are just everywhere in the city. The other thing that would irk me are the guys running around in relatively lightly modded 335's that could just mop a stock M3. Good luck doing that to a C63 with a C350. It makes the performance version a lot more special when the extra money you paid actually means something more than just a badge (similar story with the WRX and STi) IMHO.

Mustang GT is almost on par with M3 performance-wise for a fraction of the price and if you want better than M3 performance Boss 302 will give you that for less than $50k.

If you can get over the mental hurdle that it's a Ford and a Mustang you will be pleasantly surprised as the V8 engine alone is on par with the M3 with better torque and you save a boatload of money to spend on other things.

As far as the original choices I prefer M3 over C63 but really it's a personal preference decision after spending ample time in each.

So since both cars fully loaded in Canada is roughly $80k each, I'd say get a E90/E92 M3 from the states and with the money saved, get a supercharger kit for it.

    IE - http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=516571

    $47.5K USD = $46K CAD

    +

$8,500 - $16,000 USD for ESS supercharger kits

    =

    Approx $54,200 - $61,000 CAD

You can find 2009+ for low 50's to mid 50's.

Buy the C63 and if it's not what you want, sell it and buy the M3. Done.
