    Default OEM color vinyl wraps

I can't seem to find a definite answer on 3M's site or the idiot shops in town (they say to bring the car in for a quote first )

Is it possible to get a vinyl wrap that matches a rare OEM colour code from 3M ?

    no <-- definite answer

Are you planning on wrapping your car in vinyl that is exactly the same color as the paint?

    Rare OEM color code, lol
Don't worry, you're not asking for much...

    Your best option is this:

    1. Buy a roll of white car wrap vinyl
    2. Remove your fuel door and bring it to a sign shop, get them to print on the vinyl test pieces until they get it close to that sample color on the fuel door.
    3. pay them for their time
    4. Pay them to print SOLID color over the entire roll of white vinyl.
    5. Laminate in an appropriate vehicle wrap laminate to seal in the ink.

    6. profit?

If the oem color has metal flakes in it, like silver or something, make sure you find a printer that has a state of the art printer that can print with metal sparkles added to the ink that the printer produces.

What is the 'rare OEM color' that you are looking for?

Printers won't be able to hit certain colors just because paint and cmyk ink don't operate on the same spectrum.

Another route is buying vinyl that is actually sprayed with real automotive paint to give it it's color:

You could try to bribe those guys into custom making you vinyl (pay them 10k$ or so)
and get them to send you out a custom roll of vinyl
    Problem solved!

Or you could buy your own lint free paint booth, roll out the entire roll of white vinyl, and lay down a coat of the paint yourself, let it dry, then laminate it.

and if something goes wrong or the paint doesn't take to the vinyl, you're only out 50K$ or so

It sounds like you are upset that the world doesn't revolve around your custom needs.

There's also a plethora of 2 mil cast vinyls that you could laminate after the fact as well. Might be able to match to your colour also. You can wrap with this vinyl, just not quite as easily as the newer sylte "air release" wrapping sorts of vinyl.

All other options were basically covered above by Modelexis.

The only issue I've found with have vinyl printed to. ie. white vinyl turned into a solidcolour using CMYK process, was minor streaking, minor imperfections, and for the most part, you can still tell up close that it was printed. I'd definitely get test pieces if this were the case. They should be printing to matte white vinyl and then laminating with the gloss clear.
