Guy smashes a car's window in broad daylight with two occupants inside

Here's the thing though. The vehicle in question was a fully marked, Calgary Police Service patrol unit with two on-duty constables inside. After smashing two windows, he got a taser fired at him, but got away.

My question is, did he do this after playing GTA IV (i.e. troll an AI cop by punching him or his car and running off?), or did Buddy lose a bet with someone?

Video clip, at the time of my posting this, hasn't been uploaded to CTV's site, but if you load up the CTV News at 6 for today (Monday the 23rd), then the story starts at the 6:50 mark.

Police officer injured after man smashes window with club

A Calgary police officer was injured while sitting in his car when a man came out of nowhere and broke his window with a club.

The bizarre attack occurred at 17 Avenue and 4 Street S.W.

Two officers in a patrol car were dealing with an unrelated incident when a man walked up to the car and smashed a window with a club.

One officer inside the vehicle was taken to hospital after being showered with glass, getting pieces lodged in his face and eye.

Inspector Keith Cain says it took a lot of force to break the two passenger side windows.

"The bars on the back windows were bent and the club that he had broke in two on the second swing, So he was swinging with quite a bit of force,"

The partner of the injured officer deployed a Taser during the footchase, but he got away.

Other officers swarmed the area looking for the suspect but have since turned up nothing.

The cops can't even give the public a description of the suspect??? Hmmmmm, they're going to handle this manner privately I guess.

I think the biggest story here is that the man appeared out of nowhere. This is troubling. A man with a club could appear out of nowhere at any moment.

Main page video sidebar, should have "news at 6 for monday may 23rd" on it near the top. Load it up, and fast forward.

Or, wait till CTV makes a clip and uploads it. Aside from the visuals and the news script being read, you don't miss a whole lot though.

if the cop car had tint im sure the cop wouldnt be in the Hospital right now but im glad they are ok

Its cold and wet, they might be better off being arrested and achieving a notoriety by asssaulting police officers.

I live around there, i was wondering what the hell was going on. Cruisers were sitting on every street corner for about 3 blocks around there. It looked like a hornets nest had been kicked.

Note the broken window. It is reinforced bulletproof glass, but the protestor managed to get a crowbar into the seam...

Side note: I bet anything that the problems they are having with the F-22 have to do with the glass as well... The slightest bend during manuevers and the seams tend to open up - and all the oxygen disappears.

And no, we are not going to pay for reinforced glass for cop cars. Waste of money.
