It's Practice 2... haha Vettel was P1 in P1.. Likely P2 was longer runs, I'm guessing.

Shitty deal for Hamiliton, he's probably choked. Starting ninth on the grid. Good to see Ferrari sticking around the top.

Hamilton might be able to start on the hards, since his time got deleted in Q3. That would help a little for race strategy, but it will take a miracle for him to win. Hopefully button has a good race for the win!

I feel so cheated of an amazing ending to that race with the red flag and such.. Vettel was about to hit the cliff (supposedly).. Boggles my mind why Button didn't try and go for a 1 stopper, 3 stops was just too many.

I felt cheated by TSNs super crappy coverage this year. having to listen to that Audio echo for the entire race was brutal .
I hate that you cant even watch the pre show on speed either.

It was a good race though, tons of overtaking and lots of carnage this weekend. I think I'm going to make plans to be there in person next year

TSN coverage has been absolutely terrible this year, started off with Speed channel's SD coverage in the last race, they are just a farce!

I setup a VPN and started watching the BBC iplayer instead.

LH was pretty pissed in his interview with the BBC's Lee Mckensie. (He said it was a joke but I didn't sense that in his tone of voice)

If you missed the race, a former World Champion took out two other cars and is adamant he wasn't at fault. But his name wasn't Schumacher!

Although I knew Lewis was going to have a long uphill battle, his penalties were absolutely retarded.

He got penalized for 2 incidents. #1 - Battle with Massa. Lewis went on the inside at Lowes hairpin, Hamilton dives in on the inside and Massa closes the door. Massa keeps accelerating to stay in front of Hamilton (while bumping each other Nascar style) and in the process rear ends Webber breaking his front wing. Massa then takes the wrong line into the tunnel (deep in the marbles) with Hamilton on the racing line, and had no chance and crashes out. Massa blames Hamilton for not giving him room in the tunnel while slower and off line.

If you rewind back to lap 1, Michael Schumacher pulls the exact same move on Hamilton. The difference is Hamilton gives MS room, as well as back off to not cause a collision. That's how it's done. When you've lost a corner, you've lost a corner. You don't try to ram the other guy to keep position.

Incident #2. Hamilton is side by side with Maldonaldo at St. Devote the lap of the restart. Maldonaldo ignores the fact that Hamilton is there and closes the door and aims for the apex where Lewis is sitting. Both collide, Hamilton continues on while Maldonaldo is in the barriers. Maldonaldo blames Hamilton for trying to pass where you can't pass.

If you rewind back to lap 10, Hamilton pulls the exact same move on Schumacher. The difference is Schumacher gives Hamilton room, as well as back off to not cause a collision. That's how it's done. When you've lost a corner, you've lost a corner. You don't try to ram the other guy to keep position.

Based on how everything else unfolded, both penalties really didn't hamper LH too much, but it was still frustrating to see LH get picked on so much during the race. Prior to the restart, he got rear ended by Alguersuari breaking his rear wing. No investigation, no penalty. Retarded.

Good on Button and Alonso with their race, it's too bad they were allowed to change tires during the red flag, otherwise it would've been fun watching Alonso and Button fight with Vettel for the win. The championship is almost over this year unfortunately.

Ummm, not quite. LH has gone from winner to whiner and I don't like it. If he'd said, "It's Monaco, my girlfriend's here, and I had to take chances because Perez's accident wrecked my Q3," then sure. But, "They're out to get me because I'm black," no, just no, even as a joke.

Massa did not turn in on Hamilton. The Toro Rosso was holding up the Red Bull (and LH accused them of holding him up in favour of Red Bull last week) and that backed up Massa. Massa slowed and went inside to avoid hitting the Red Bull. LH, #4 in the queue, could only see that Massa was slow and tried a go up the inside. He has all over the curb, no chance of making that pass.

Was LH at fault? No question. Did he have anywhere else to go at that point? Not really. If the stewards had called it a racing incident, I would have accepted that, too. Massa, although probably terminal at that point, did not back off, and his demise was inevitable. Did he break his front wing on Vettel? Well, like I said, he turned in to try not to rear end the Red Bull. I don't think he was bumping LH (but could understand if he was PO'd for being run into to), I think LH couldn't turn in any sharper to stay off him.

LH didn't give Schumi room, he left the door wide open unintentionally. Maldonado's inexperienced and looking to prove himself, so LH knew it would be a risk getting alongside him. Maldonado had to choose between giving way and getting wrecked, and he chose wrong. Unfortunately, you've got to penalize LH there, but at least that cost him nothing. He got the place, no point in complaining.

To salvage 6th after being caught out in Q3 and breaking a rear wing would please most, it's just that LH has been #1 and can't accept less. Love that, just not the whining.

Watch the Schumi pass on LH on lap 1 again. LH was queue'd up behind Petrov, which gave Schumi a chance to dive in on the inside. As LH starts to turn in, he sees MS along side, and moves right immediately to give him room avoid a collision. If LH continued to turn in instead, it would be a repeat of the Massa/Lewis incident, because at that point, Schumi would have to go on the curb to avoid LH as much as possible.

In the Massa incident, if Massa took the same speed/line without Hamilton there, he would've spun Webber around. There was no way he was going to make that line, only reason he did it was to deliberately force Lewis off the road. Watch as Lewis and Massa first hit, it moves Massa slightly right, which caused him to hit the back of Webber's car. If Lewis wasn't there, Massa would've hit Webber's left rear, spinning him around.

Hamilton never aimed to go all over the curb. He was forced to because Massa kept turning in on him. He had nowhere to go at that point because Massa forced the door closed.
