I may be wrong but I would think you could, it would be a pain in the ass though as you'd have to add a tank, pump(s) and full fuel lines, rails, pressure regulators etc on the fuel delivery end of things.Originally posted by cycosis

I also don't know a heck of a lot about propane engine design, but propane itself is somewhere in the range of 110 octane, and I believe propane engines run high compression (10+:1) so you might have to reduce the compression to get the engine to run properly without pinging.
I would just look for a diesel one if I were you....
Propane engines are normal engines. My old jimmy had a conversion done to it, most people will keep the fuel tank and just add a propane bottle, which the bus probably has enough room to do so. You would need a new carb. But find a diesel as you will have nowhere near the power you would want.
You can go to www.canadatrader.com, it will redirect you to auto trader..there is an option at the top that says "what" type in school bus or bus and you should get some results.
theres a farm out on county hills blvd toward delacour, he has about 20+ schoolbusses out there, i dont know if any are for sale though, its one the south side of the road about 10-15 mins out you cant miss it.
Or possibly...Originally posted by msommers

On track though, yes you can convert a GAS engine to propane, you can't however turn a DIESEL into propane, and most buses are diesel. There are kits for propane injection into a diesel system though, which gives you better mileage.

the place out on CHB is first students NE lot... You wont buy any there - believe they go to Michner allen to be sold. But there is a junkyardish storage looking place with a few kicking around the back 40 facing stoney
Most of the first student etc - are dual fuel propane conversions - straight gas equipment is already there, just flush and go
