    Angry Poor Body Work - What to do??

    I have a TSX that I currently lease, I originally transferred the lease from another person almost 2 years ago.

    The last owner was hit at the C-Train station and had damage repaired on the door. The door is now starting to rust, as it was repair incorrectly (According to A-1, where it's at now). The shop that did the original repair welded the new outer door panel, which removed the sealer(it should have been glued instead). This is causing the rust. It's also miss-aligned as well.

    The work was done at one of the more reputable body shops in town (won't mention the name right now). The body work does have a lifetime warranty, but only to the original owner.

    I have the original copies of all the work done for the past lessee.

    Any suggestions on what I should do?

    Who is the original owner according to them? As I'm only a lessee on the vehicle.

    I will a little later today, as I'm waiting to hear back from A-1 on some quotes from them.

    I'm sure, they will say it's only warrantied by the original owner though.

    They might say that but bad work is bad work. If they are as reputable as you say, they will own up to it and fix the car properly.

    this is happening to my car too. Not from A-1 though.

    from what i remember i believe all work is warrantied only for the original owner too

    The guy at A-1 has been great, been down there a few times with another issue I'm having.

    A-1 said I should take it back to the other shop, which I have made an appointment. He said they probably won't do anything as I'm not the original owner.

    agreed, if the shop is reputable then go in there and raise hell and hopefully youll get it repaired

    I finally got in the shop today........

    The guy looked at the door and said it's rusting because they didn't put enough primer on it. Said he's glad I caught it so early.

    I also had a minor hit and run on the fender that he said he could fix up for my deductible ($500), which is pretty sweet.

    I gave him my receipts and he started filling out the paper work, when he found out I wasn't the "original owner", he didn't want to do the work, as he said the warranty doesn't apply to me (showed me the warranty page). He hesitated for a min and then said we'll get you fixed up.

    Hopefully I don't get any surprises, he copied my receipt and booked me in. I didn't get any written quotes or anything back from him.

    Sorry, for the late reply... I guess better late then never.

    The shop was Concours Collision NW...

    They came through with the repairs and the additional damage a little higher than the $500 quote.

    Overall, I'm happy with the service I got
