I booked with Alamo, 2 cars for 10 days from August 5-August 15. Around $1280, unlimited km, insurance coverage too and I can go anywhere I want. Saved ~$600.

They are good people but their call centers are shitty because 3 of the reps were going to rent me a Mini-van even though I'm under 25. Well obviously the actual location won't do it so why even reserve it for me. So instead I took 2 cars and they cut me a good deal on them since the call centers fucked up. There is also a chance for upgrade too when the time comes.

I've had a few free upgrades because they have been out of compacts, but always get upgraded to a Buick or some big boat.

Don't use Enterprise, I spent 20 minutes there trying to rent a car from them one day. They asked me for a second phone number when all I have is a cell phone and harassed me for it until they asked me to leave and refused to rent me a car. Because I only have one phone number. What a fucked up place. I called Discount and was in and out......that time, the next time and the time after that. I rent lots of cars.

Wanted to rent a car in Vancouver for a week. Most places have bottom line of ~500+ for a standard weekly rental. Ended up rental thru AMA. Booked a Hertz compact (Versa or Accent) for $250/week instead of the usual $500 rate. When I got to the airport the agent if I wanted to upgrade to a C250 for $17 a day. I declined and then me and my buddy looked at the older Accent, Versa, and the C class and decided to go with it.
    $350/week isn't bad.

Enterprise is probably the most friendly to youth renters. The fee is only $15.00/day and I'm sure you can haggle it down, I was paying only $5.00/day at Enterprise in Airdrie.

Just got $15/day for a full-size car in Hawaii (Kauai) using Priceline. Cheapest online rate was $30-45/day (way more expensive than Oahu when we were there before). So maybe give priceline a try.

K so I am looking at rentals lately, and wtf dude why are the prices so high? Economy is at $75/day, which would indicate to me that this is high season for rentals. What the hell goes on in Alberta this time of year where people have to rent cars up the tits?

I know during summer there are lots of tourists and people want to rent cars also to leave the City, but late September?????

Anyways, I have tried Enterprise, Budget, National, Alamo, Discount. All these places are either $75/day for economy are they have no stock. National and Alamo only had a van available, $375 for two days? No TY.
