Not much of an update, but a bit anyways.
Set up a usb panel mount, so i dont need to have my cable hanging from the haltech all the time
Installed the switch to enable my 2 step limiter. POP POP!!! (community reference)
I dont know how i fucked up, but ive lost most of my oil pressure. Maybe co-incidence...so...must fix.
Oh, whats this?
Oh, and also this........ on the top
Awesome build!
I wish I kept my S14 haha
Finally got around to working on my build.
Had the block decked, honed, and cleaned. Got new factory bearings, and piston rings.
Today got the clearances double checked and the crank in and buttoned up. Currently gapping the rings, should be putting in pistons and rod bearings tomorrow.
PERFECT!!
Checking for crankshaft thrust, it was perfect FSM measurement at .022mm
More to come lads, head will get built up next. Im going VVTI for this year, should really help my spool out...not to mention the EFR
Pistons/rod bearings in. All thrust measurements are perfect spec, all oil clearances right in the middle. Gapped the rings much more than factory. Thanks for the advice Toma.
Head work starts next week hopefully. Need to strip it down and get it to precise to be planed. I'll probably re-lap the valves, and do a set of BC springs and Ti retainers. Top it off with a pair of titan 272 VVTI cams and call her a day.
Beauty. Nice progress.
PM me if your non vvti head is available.
Your project looks like it's coming along nicely. Keep up the good work !

Looking good bro. Thinking you'll be done before I get mine up and running!
Is it just me or when you scroll down on this picture it looks like a .GIF and its coming out at you?Originally posted by sr20s14zenki
Either way, looks good
It's coming to get you. =)
Got some junk done.
GSC springs and retainers transferred over. Old head is obliterated, as were the cams =(
Pans on, head on. Excuse the mess.. lol
Waiting on cams. Decided to go mild, just some poncams for this year. When they get here, i can finish assembly and drop it in.
I REALLY like this wrinkle paint. Very cool
Engine as it sits. Need cams, and an O-ring for my water pump. Then the rest can go together.
Also, found the culprit from last year. SAND!!!!.
Fucking powdercoaters, i knew they got sand in there....the fittings that i welded on were beat to shit. I should have drilled the rivets and removed the baffles to clean. Oh well, no sense living in the past.
Cams ordered...http://www.briancrower.com/makes/toyota/2jzge.shtml
got the stage 3 272 degree.
Did a bit more work, fit the turbo for lines, etc.
Billet titanium tensioner arm
Factory oil cooler installed. Less complicated (=
Decided to paint valley cover white to match car. Lets see how it looks
Lines all set up. Just waiting on cams now. =(
That's a pretty engine! I just bought a 1j gz21 soarer, this build thread gives me plenty of gumption to get modding it!
1999 NBS Silverado 4x4 awaiting an extensive build.
6" BDS Lift is in. 37" mud grapplers. Built trans(by me) 4.10's, shaved ls6 heads, comp cam. More to come.
Another shot with vc and cover.
Fit my new bumper. Just needs paint now. Woo
