Default 2011 CSCC Alberta Time Attack Series Brought to you by Mobil1 and Airboy Tuning

Welcome to the 2011 CSCC Time Attack series! 2011 promises to be a whole new experience to both returning participants and rookies alike.

As you can tell by the name change, the format is switching to time attack from solosprint. What does this mean? Rather than have a 5 lap format during timed events, there will be a set time span during which you can set your fastest lap. To accommodate this, there will also be passing during timed events. This should make for a more exciting and smoother operating experience.

The changes don’t stop with the format; new for 2011 we’ll be using the ASN Time Attack classification system. Information on the classes can be found here.

By revising the classification system, the competition should be tighter and more appropriate for the variety of cars that take part.

Once you’ve classified your car according to the ASN rules, check to ensure your car also satisfies their safety requirements. If your car is lightly modified, this likely will not be an issue. If your car is heavily modified, it may be necessary for you to install additional safety equipment like a roll bar/cage, racing seats, harnesses, etc.

It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure they satisfy the ASN requirements. This includes using correctly certified and current equipment, like FIA belts that are younger than 5 years. If you are found to be in violation of the ASN rules, you may be sent home, removed from the competition side of the series or removed entirely. It will be at our discretion. We are not joking when it comes to safety.

New for 2011, we will be using paid marshals for the Race City events. This should make for a lot more track time!

This is a great opportunity for any Beyond member that's wanted to see what their car can do at the track in a safe and controlled manner. Depending on what package you choose the cost can work out to roughly 100$ per day plus your own expenses. That's less than half the cost of some other clubs/organizations. With the future of Race City up in the air, this could be the last chance to track your car for a while.

Doing some quick math, the cost per lapping/event day works out to:

    Package 1: 100$ per day
    Package 2: 108$ per day
    Package 3: 115$ per day
    Package 4: 150$ per day
Package 5: 225$ per day (includes 2 day school however)

If you missed 50% of the days included in package 1, you would equal the cost of some of the other organizations. The CSCC is by far the best value around.
