On another forum I am on, somebody brought something up that I think needs to be repeated here (in regards to another topic):

Vancouver has a metro population of ~2.3MILLION people. Out of the 100,000 in downtown Van, probably 10,000 rioted. So, lets do some math shall we:

10,000/2,300,000 = 0.4%

The most miniscule number of people caused this issue and is in no way a reflection on society. INSIGNIFICANT, and most definitely not a way to judge anyone/make any decisions on.

Yep. Truthfully, if my car was getting smashed I would just walk away. It's why I have insurance... it's terribly sad though that if you try and defend your vehicle people will still do it (like the girls) or you'll get your face punched in with the crowd yelling "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET!" like the guy and his truck.

10,000 people acting in violet unison over something as trivial as a hockey game is hardly insignificant no matter how cleverly you attempt to minimize it.
