    Default How fast are the new Audi A8's????

    Hey,

    Last night I was on my way home and an older guy and his wife were beside me in a brand new A8L I believe.
    I didn't think anything of it but he kept rolling at the lights.

    I didn't launch out of 1st but when I shifted into second the guy floored it! Let me tell you, for a big beast of a car that thing is quick.
    It kept up to my ITR all the way until 4th gear and then I shut it down.

    Anyone have the stats on those bad boys?

    but it also weight a few tons...

    Same engine as the S6, S4, and the A6 4.2 (although this one seems detuned).

    Well I'm sure if it had been down at the race track and we were going off the line properly it wouldn't have been so close but he was in second gear I'm sure and so was I....talk about torque!

    I was scared he was going to put me on his screen with that rear view camera! HaHa

    benyl: its not heavy compared to other german ubersedans...

    Anyways, at first i didn't really like them, then i saw one in person, and fell in love. Im still not a fan of those 19" chromies they have, but they match the car.

    A8L Weight = 4389lbs +330hp = 13.3pound/hp
    S430 LongWheelbase weight = 4103lbs +275hp = 14.92pound/hp
    745Li weight = 4455lbs + 325hp = 13.7pound/hp

    A8L also has the quickest 0-100kmh...6.1 sec (.1 faster than the 7, and a full second over the Benzo)

    they are very fast cars.. me and my buddy were driving out of elbow valley and werent payin attention... the car was doin like 140 and we thought we were at maybe 80.. the way the car accelerates is smooth as hell u honestly cant feel what gear you are in and every gear seems like first in terms of instant acceleration...... for a sedan anyways

    This is why I don't understand VW's or Porche's move to make performance Sedans - they already have a great marquee to produce them under

    And yeah the A8 is totally an underappreciated car!

    I think it was obvious that you want to race that guy with your ITR.
    x = way too fast
    y = bump in the road
    z = oh shit

    x + y = z

    I though VW was aiming for the luxury portion and leaving Audi with the "sport" portion of the market?
