It took me months to chase down the answer. How Telus works around this is that they claim your contract gives you a certain discount on service. You're not guaranteed a fixed service price. so they raise base price, you still get the same discount, and they haven't violated the terms of the contract.

I'm just curious to know what's the best deal out there for new account activation(Basic HD TV+Highspeed Internet)? My new place is in DT area if that matters. Anyone works for either company(Telus/Shaw) can give an insight?

WTF? Is this how they roll? I'm just comparing last two months bills, and they raised the HD theme packs from $7.00 each to $9.00 each.

They used to charge $4 extra on the theme pack for the same channels in HD. No they give you the HD and have made it a flat price of $9. I called last night and they added them on (don't automatically do it), which is dumb. Not too bad I guess for a toonie per package.

Telus sucks but the charge you less, then jack up the price while your locked into a contract.
