Default Road trip from Calgary to Seattle; American food joints I can't miss along the way?

    Hey Beyond!

I'm heading to Seattle in a week or so. I'm pretty excited about this cause I'll get to try a bunch of food joints that we can't get up here in Canada. The first thing that came to mind was White Castle.. but I checked their store locator and they're all in the east

I've also heard good things about Carl's Jr, In-and-Out Burger, Jack in the Box, etc... how are these places?

Anyways the real question is: What are some awesome American food joints I should hit up on this road trip?? I freaking LOVE food

In-N-Out - Great, but not in Seattle
Jack off in the box - crappy
    Chick Fil-A - Great
    Popeyes - Excellent
    Ihop - Great
    Cheesecake Factory - Excellent
Ranch 1 - Excellent (at outlet mall in Tukwila)

The Brown Bag Cafe in Kirkland is one of my favorites when we're there. Crab Pot is excellent if you're into Seafood, and I hear great things about Salty's on Alki for brunch, but never seem to be there on a weekend. Will have to make sure I check it out when I'm there next.

You MUST eat at the crab Pot when in Seattle. Thinking of this place makes my mouth water.

Crab pot was ok but Ivar's now that is a place you must get to for sure. Ivar's crab platter was equally priced compared to Crab Pot and they had cheap and incredibly good oysters too!

Heading there make sure to hit up the Hotrod Cafe in Post Falls. Man do they have an incredible selection of burgers.

Huge Ruben Burger; (Yeah that my embarassing I'm holding a huge ass burger pose I suppose...)

I don't see the point it trying out fast food places either. Seattle has crazy good one of a kind restaraunts that are worth stopping at. At the fish market downtown there was this little crab roll / chowder place that we ate at every day that we were down there, It didn't matter if we'd eaten lunch yet or not we'd always stopped for chowder or a crab roll or both even. I ate like a monster while I was there.

There's also a cool little waffle shop downtown although I can't remember what it was called at this moment.

o jeeze, fuck ^ those suggestions:

Seattle and area is very popular for local food, or various spins utilizing Greek, Mexican and other ethnic foods.

With that in mind, I suggest you hit up:

Voula's Offshore Cafe <---- Greek Hobo mmm....
Mike's Chili Parlor <---- get the "Chili Burger" and "Chili Fries"

I suggest going to Voula's twice, its the best fucking food ever.

I think both of those were on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. Good call, Mike's Chili Parlor is a must

Someone mentioned Cheesecake Factory... I went there. 11/10. ORGASMIC.

I found driving in Seattle pretty intimidating, albeit I didn't have a map or GPS. I thought I would just wing it.

I drove there and it was pretty good. Worst thing we had happen to us driving was a fat bitch near the library yelled "HEY" at me as I pulled forward to look around a bus. She was eating a sandwich.

There is now a saying in our group: "Hey, pass me a sandwich" and you waddle away.

Once you figure out the mentality it isnt too bad to drive there, I had to go in circles around the convention center to get onto north bound I-95 though.

Dick's Drive-In is the canonical fast food place of Seattle. There are 2 locations. There are no In-n-Out in Washington (just CA and Las Vegas).

IHOP is gross, don't go there unless it's 5am and nothing else is open. It's like a step down from Denny's.

There is also a Joey's here now (actually 3)

Ivar's is good if you like fish and chips. Not a huge fan.
