    Default Replacing Windows

Looking to replace most of the windows, frames in an older house. Decent sized job, anyone have any suggestions? Been getting quotes from the usual guys and they're all over the map.

Any beyonders do this for a living and willing to give a beyond discount?

I work for Pella Windows & Doors. I'd be happy to get you a quote. Do you have a contractor or would you be looking for an all in one type place? I can do either for you.

If you are interested, just shoot me a PM. I am on here pretty often.

    Western Windows.
Had them replace eight windows in my last home, built in the 1950's. Flawless from start to finish.
Got quotes from All-weather and Lux, both of whom have good reputations, but Western was cheaper, and more helpful.

My in-laws used Greg Martineau, and were very unhappy with the whole thing.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

Tell them Thomas sent you. Great installs, great warranty on labour, and they give you selection on multiple manufacturers if you want something specific.

I wont advertize my company, but feel free to contact me if you want to learn more about different products and their benefits to you. I work in the showroom and would be happy to tell you what I know.

    Some general notes:

Look for companies that use QUALIFIED INSTALLERS. (no, not everyone can instal a window correctly)

Choose the product that is right for you application and your needs. (efficiency, looks, options, warranty, cost)

Know what product you are putting in and what is covered under the warranty.

Windows manufacturers that sell directly with installation usually contract out the install randomly and rarely ever have installers hired by the company themselves.

    Hi Guys,

My window was recently broken and I am currently looking for quotes and maybe some of the people here could give me a ball park idea of what I should be looking for in terms of price for different types of windows.

The broken window in question is my front living room window, I believe the frame is Aluminum and the window measures 57" H x 54.5"

Here are 3 pictures I have taken to give you a better idea of what it looks like:

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Why not do it yourself? It's not hard. We just finished doing all the windows in my brother's house and my parents' summer home.

Believe me if I was capable I would do it myself. Unfortunately I am not as handy as people like yourself.

I had a few windows replaced by Lux, I feel that their product is pretty good.

However, I found their customer service to be subpar and they seemed very disorganized. They charged my Visa, without my consent for a window they never installed.

    I give them

So i just got a few replies back from some of those places and it turns out they only do full frame/window replacement, my case just falls under glass replacement... So anyone have any recommendation for glass replacement?
