The one tomorrow (Sunday) is completely full -- no walk-ups allowed. But you are welcome to come watch and/or get some rides.Originally posted by 03ozwhip

Saw that driving by this morning, looked pretty cool.

Fuck!
I went last year and had a great time ... Missed it this year
There are four more events at Deerfoot Mall this year. Go to the Calgary Sports Car Club website at http://cscc.speedracer.ca/forums/ind...c,10424.0.html for the schedule.
What?... they hold many events there each year...Originally posted by KandabashiDevil

Yesterdays event was insanely busy... We had 65 drivers show up (saturday had 53 I believe).
Yep -- really, really busy. Complete with one idiot that decided to compensate for his poor driving skills by stunting in the pits (banned, reported). We will NOT tolerate behaviour like that.
If you want fewer people and more seat time, then drive to the events at Red Deer or at Fort Macleod (SASC). Usually under 30 drivers and very relaxed in comparison. A lot more fun in my opinion.

It's a shame, we had that one stunter, then at the end of the day people were disappearing like crazy to avoid cleaning up. Downright disrespectful.
(I don't check this subforum very often or I would have voiced this concern in a more timely manner)

Clean up on Sunday, or do you mean Saturday? The marshals out there Sunday at the end stacked up all the cones in nice piles for the truck to come grab before walking to the pit, and that all happened within 2 minutes of the last run........what else was missed?Originally posted by Zero102

You are correct, I was talking about Sunday. Saturday went great, I couldn't believe how well everything was executed.
I thought the idea was for everybody to stay until the end and help clean up, not just the marshals? I saw many more cars than usual leaving before the end of the event on Sunday, and my wife even got tailgated and a ricer flyby from one of them on the deerfoot onramp as she left the event (45 minutes before it ended).

the whole ricer flyby is unfortunate, the cone cleanup on Sunday IMHO went quicker than any other event I've been to, when I walked to my car there was 2 or 3 ppl on the back of a pick-up truck pulling onto the course to collect the stacks of cones. That left timing and yellow tape left to be taken down, am I missing anything else?Originally posted by Zero102

Yep that's the idea... If you stay for fun runs you help clean up... I admit I didn't help with the clean up on sat but I wasn't going to do fun runs (not much left on my current set of tyres) and I'm not going to wait a hour to wait till everyone's done to help clean up. It was a different story on Sunday since there were no fun runs.Originally posted by Zero102
