Sapphire

Is it a scratch in the sapphire itself or a scratch in the shitty soft antireflective coating that sits on top of the crystal? While not impossible, it's not overly easy to scratch sapphire unless you brush it against rock/brick containing silicon carbide or a diamond. I've had watches that I've abused and they look like crap, except for the perfect sapphire crystal
