Had I not just bought my wife a 126234 I would most definitely be looking at the BB54 for her. In fact, if I didn't have a 79030B BB58 I would probably be getting that for myself.

What I like about the BB54 is the case size, the reduction in thickness, and the crown tube length reduction. I'm not a huge fan of crowns that stick out so far, particularly with no crown guards. What I don't like about the 54 is the gilt dial with the regular non-faux aged color of the bezel insert text. Not sure how I feel about that. I would prefer if they went with the stark modern colours on the dial and the bezel so they match and its less faux-agey and more of a modern interpretation. That's what sold me on the 79030b because its a 58 w/o the aged gilt look. I'm still not overly sold on snowflake hands w/ circle dial markers though..

If I was in the market for the BB54 i'd probably look at the Pelagos 39. that one gets crown guards, square markes w/ snowflake hands, 39mm case size (pretty much best size) and is the real modern interpretation of the OG snowflake Tudor submariners.

Tudor has been on fire last few years though. The releases that I think are awesome from Tudor over that period are:
    -bb58
    -bb58 blue
    - bb GMT
    - Pelagos 39
    - Pelagos FXD
    - bb panda chrono

For Rolex, I'm still trying to get my hands on a Pepsi GMT w/ jubilee. I'd save some dough and get the Tudor GMT but there have been some issues w/ the movement (date wheel) and the case thickness is a bit much IMO. I'll just patiently wait for my pepsi even if it takes a few years. My wallet is in no hurry.

Good example is I got my wife's watch for $10,500+GST. Here is one on chrono for $17k!!

Agreed that Tudor has been on fire with their latest drops. I love my BB 925 and itching for either a BB54 or a blue Pelagos and titanium case. At 37mm, the BB54 is a throwback and would be nice if/when they come out with different colors.

I believe they fixed that date wheel issue on the latest GMT. Can't say about the BB Pro.

Not on my wrist but yesterday I spent 6 hours in a queue in Madrid to get a Omega x Swatch Moonswatch Mission to the Moon "Moonshine"

I already have a few decent watches that I never wear so I'm going to sell it to a buddy in Malta. Most of the line was filled with hawkers, including a group of gypsies who were obviously paid to hold places for a bunch of white dudes.

It's a nice looking watch but I'm not a fan of the "bioceramic" (plastic) case or velcro wristband. Seems there's a lot of hype among collectors though and my buddy is all into it so whatever, a couple hundred Euros in my pocket for 6 hours of practicing Spanish with people in line.

Funny… I’m in Vancouver for work and decided to stop by Metrotown to see stock; they had every model! So I grabbed a moon one:

Man @ercchry I wanted to pick one off those up, couldn't find one anywhere that wasn't down to earth pricing.

It’s only a matter of time. Didn’t Swatch publicly say they’re not going to limit supply on these?

Wild they had them in stock. From what I gathered from the watch geeks in line, the Moon & Neptune are very hard to come buy.

If they have a Neptune you should consider picking it up for resale - apparently it's been discontinued and impossible to find (but I'm not a watch geek so check it out for yourself).

I got the moon relatively easily by going to SWATCH in West Ed mall. Hated the moment I put it on based on how small and light it felt on my wrist and was taking it back until a buddy said he will take it. Gave it to him for what I paid cause I didn't wanna bother with trying to make a couple hundred on it on Kijiji. I would call that West Ed store as they usually have some in stock, though yes, Mercury, Moon and Neptune are definitely harder to come by.

Yeah, the oem strap sits weird and the whole package is almost too light. I swapped to a nato and that’s helped out a lot, gives it more wrist presence too
