I do, though I seem to suffer heavily from the common model-kit-hoarding problem and buy more than I finish.

Every modeler does. They imagine how great it would be to make the kit, how it would be done soon, and keep buying. I've got a TON of kits that I really need to sell as I've come to the realization I can't possibly build them all (and then there are the kits that I think to myself "What the fuck was I thinking?!?!?" - usually because they were cheap or rare or something).Originally posted by Twenty

I've got a ton of build ups. Here's one:
You have a couple of photos that are great... you must be very good at photoshop!
where do you guys get these and do they come with the parts you put on them? they all look really modified and dont look like hey come out of he box that way....
This thread inspired me to go out and buy a kit, but now I'm sitting here wondering how I'm going to paint it, what kind of glue to use, etc.
Had a client who's son was a world champion from Singapore. He was contacted from Tamiya to paint for their production shots. His work would literally look real if it weren't for the actual scale. I'm amazed at how much time and focus some of you guys can put into these kits.
One of the most amazing modelers I know of is Kunta on AF. His ability to make paint shine like nothing else is just second to none.

It's a shame his archived stuff can't be seen anymore. Here's a sample of his amazing work. We're talking mostly box stock:
AF is the way to go if you want to see amazing work and how it's done.

EDIT: Also, another noteworthy modeler on AF (Tiking):

His ability to make real life models and weathering effects absolutely blows me away.

And another I've done (my masking skills among others are deplorable):

there's a hobby shop across the street from Sonny's Hamburgers in Ogden that has a ton of super cool models like these.
wow it's almost impossible to tell that it's a model
^^ those pics of kuntas work are amazing!
i'm slowly working on a couple, just want to finsh a few of my favorites to have in home office, like Miura, F40, etc
here's some WIP of Lambo Miura...it started as a Jota kit i got for only $5 curb-side kit
i'm having to scratch build many items, the engine/trans are 100% scratch built
to have chassis, engine and interior detail i want, almost all is being scratch built...but it's fun!
