I just bought one for the office at work.
It's called Marker Board laminate. Comes in a 4x8 sheet. Best bet is to call a cabinet company or anyone that sells laminate counter tops. They should be able to get it for you. I got our cabinet supplier to do us a favour and got it through them.
Calgary is so much like an iphone: iCalgary - There's a bylaw for that.

Oh, I just looked at your username.
Let me know what it ends up costing you, I'd like to get one for my office. It's easier drawing out the database schemas on something bigger than 8x11 paper.
