Hey, this is beyond. A bunch of keyboard warriors that will RIP some dirty scumbag drug dealer that they went to school with, but will laugh and make jokes about some poor mom that was old and frail and didn't have the strength to get herself out of a recycle bin while upside down.

I'd love to see any of these jokers jammed into a recycle bin headfirst and see how well they get out after we get them dizzy drunk, and fuck up their knee so they can't use it for leverage.

Why would a man from Toledo, Ohio sue Winnipeg over this?

C'mon over on Saturday. I'll get your drunk/stoned, wrap up your knee, and then jam you into the recycle bin headfirst after I fill it from the shredder.

Just PM me your info, and I'll send you the address. Cos can come and play advocate. Rage can come to and record the whole thing for posterity. We'll pop you out when you stop struggling.

Afterwards, we can sit around the firepit and shoot the shit.

I've noticed the whole death pun thing has really hit full force in the last few months, at least on here. Before that it was RIP this RIP that. Another trend I guess.

Another formerly taboo action becoming accepted. I remember a while ago, a group of us were discussing taboo subjects. We talked about how more and more subjects were becoming acceptable, and wondering what would be next. My friend's brother says, "Probably rape". There was an uncomfortable silence.

Fast forward a year or two and rape is almost a joke. Eventually, the death pun lustre will fade, and beyond will fall back to half the populace making death puns and the other half saying RIP. I should put this in the betting thread.

    ^^^

It's shock value. People like to break the taboo mold, to show everyone else how non-conventional they are. Every fad has to top the previous fad, every generation has to top the previous generation, and not just in humor either. Porn is going to be interesting in 20 years as well, lol.

    Hypocrisy abound ....

Yeah, I remember when these forums were racially sensitive. I made a comment about how Tosh.O didn't need to be racist, and the losers on beyond told me to "lighten up". Then I talked about how me & some friends trashed a hotel in another thread, and people told me to "grow up".

Moral of the story? Use beyond to express YOUR opinion, but definitely don't pay attention to anyone else's

The OP set the tone for this thread. Had it been more respectful I think people would react differently in the beginning posts.

    ^Also very true.

That's life on the beyond streets yo. One day everyone's smiling and the next shops are burning from riots. I hope everyone doesn't take anything too personally, this leads to being defensive (fear), which leads to anger, which leads to the dark side. We all know how that turns out - dead ewoks, and those things are too cute to die.

If the old lady has life insurance then it could be a murder but if not then that's her final destination, there's thousands ways to die that it could happen to us, if people die everyday , babies born everyday so everything is balances.

It was titled like a FOX news report.

Had the title read "elderly female with a history of motor control problems fell into a recycling bin on the edge of her deck" .... the thread wouldve received only a few responses.

True indeed, making something from nothing.

But to be honest, it's not really news worthy at all... not controversial, not all too interesting.. there's been more discussion on the reaction than the story itself.

But look at what the OP follows up the title with

I think it's newsworthy because it is funny.

I mean, it's funny at how many different ways there are to die.

Make a list of how you think you're going to die. You'll probably find things like...

    1) Old Age
    2) Car Accident
    3) Cancer or other Health Related Problem

So when you have things like...

    1) Falling Head First In To Recycle Bin
    2) Getting Crushed At Entrance To Parkade
    3) Drowning Trying To Save Your Car On A Rainy Day

Let's face it, it's odd, it's newsworthy, it's tragic, and oh yeah, it's funny too!

Haha, if the booze is on you I'm down, good luck getting me in though.

With OP, I didn't actually read the article.
