It doesnt seem like good old CS but moreso a heavily competitive based template for ESL type competitions, be interesting to see what it is tho, CS being one the biggest influencers of what MP FPS is today imo , Valve never really disappoints with their products in my experiences.

Now out of nowhere rumours have suddenly started flooding in that a new Counter-Strike is in the work. Better yet, it sounds like the rumoured title might only be a few months away....

At this stage, sources are reporting that the next installment in the legacy will be called Counter-Strike:Global Offensive or CS:GO for short. When details first appeared on the SteamPowered forums calling it "Counter Strike: Global Operation" Jess Cliffe, one of the creators of the original Counter-Strike, responded quite simply with "Global Offensive".

Comments from eSports figure heads have begun to appear in recent hours, such as the following tweet posted by Bastian Veiser, Product manager for the ESL Pro Series

"Just spend all day playing the new Counterstrike Global Offensive #CSGO at the #Valve HQ ! God I love my job.. oh and yeah... its that good!"

Craig "Torbull" Levine of ESEA visited VALVe earlier today, to help play-test the game. Levine confirmed the name and stated that he wasn't required to sign an NDA, but was asked not to post photos or video.

According to ESEA we can expect the following features from CS:GO:

Rumors:
• Planned to be released Q1 2012
• Focuses on 5v5 competition
• Press release within 24 hours from VALVe
• Plays on an updated source engine
• Individual & Team rankings
• New Guns added
• New Grenades
• Dust & Aztec major revamp
• Spamming still viable
• Ammo is free

By all indications we should have clarification and more info within the next 24 hours. Stay tuned.

Looks interesting and if it is priced like the other CS's, I will try it out. Seems like some fun could be had, but I was never a huge CS fan. Did enjoy both 1.6 and source though.

this is the same sentiments that were said when source was released. if this is gonna continue, 1.6 will keep on trucking. valve has a history of neglecting the players when changing up counter-strike.

anyone else remember the retarded money system that was introduced for 1.6? and how long it took for shaguar to convince them why it was fundamentally flawed?
