Default STOLEN: Wedding Ring and Wedding band.

    Helllooo beyond,

Just wanted to put out a notice that my cousin's engagement ring and wedding band were stolen from Heavens Fitness on 11th Ave. I know it's a long shot but I just wanted to try to get it out there, I was best man at their wedding just four weeks ago so I just want to try and help them out as much as I can.

If possible, keep a lookout for any sketchy ads of rings being sold like the pictures below, maybe on kijiji or something.

The engagement ring size is 4.25, I will update later on when I get a picture of the band. It's similar with to the engagement ring with diamonds going halfway across the ring.

    Thanks,

    Patrick.

    That sucks.

No surveillance in locker rooms either.

Probably didn't have insurance on it?

If one or the other was bought recently on a credit card they have loss/theft insurance (last 90 days I think with most cards).

Assuming they had tenant / condo / homeowner insurance there will be SOME coverage. Most companies cap jewellery at $5000 - $6000 unless it's listed separately (commonly called a floater). That looks like a pretty significant rock, if 4.25 means 4.25 carats (sp?) then I don't think the $6000 is going to go very far. If that is in fact a $15,000 - $25,000 ring, why don't they have any kind of insurance? A better question would be why the hell would she leave it in a locker at a gym?

    That's not a 4ct ring, maybe 1ct, but still 8 or 9k easily.

We went through the same thing, my wifes ring was stolen from her purse at work along with her iPod etc.

Stupidly I didn't get additional insurance for the ring (never even thought of it) and although we had the Gold level of home insurance from TD it only covered $3000.00 of it.

unless you're Liberace, your wedding ring doesn't come close to the value of a diamond

I have a woven platinum/gold ring that that was more expensive than my wife's diamond wedding band.

Guys, I don't know where you got the idea that it was lost in the changing rooms, it wasn't really mentioned in the OP.

Anyways, best of luck finding it, I'll keep in my mind never to bring a ring to the gym when I get one.
