Default Washer not spinning - Help needed

My tenant told me my 1 year and 4 months old inglis front load washer IFW7200 is not spinning in the last fast drying cycle. Any one know what the issue is? I only have 1 yr warranty on this washer. Can someone help?

Does it drain out the water completely before going into the final spin?

If it's still full of water, there might be a clog that is preventing the machine from moving on to the final spin.

If it's draining out okay, then it could be an issue with an electronic component. The IFW7200 isn't an extremely complex machine, but it does use a speed control device to handle the various spin speeds during the cycle.

Sadly, front load washers are one of the worst appliances for break downs and the warranties are virtually non-existent. Pays to get the extended on these... same with dishwashers.

Thanks! I checked it out and yes it does drain out the water. The only cycle not working is the super quick spin cycle, after that cycle, there is one slower cycle in the end that works.

Any one have a referral (handyman) that can fix this issue? Yes next time I am going to get an extended warranty for these front load washers.

I've had the same problem a couple of times over the years with front loaders (last time I buy one of these things).

It's often due to an unbalanced load. I've had it happen if I'm only washing a couple towels or something like that. Run it again with a full load (real full) and it should be okay. Also try unplugging it for 30 minutes or so. I had a repair guy tell me once upon a time that the electronic boards will "freeze up
" and sometimes reseting it will do the trick.

Unplugging it is good advice, my repair guy told me the same thing. After this did not work he dropped by and replaced a circuit board for I think it was $450 at the time.

    -Buy name brands only.
-Stay away from the exotic brands from Germany, etc.
    -Top load washer only.
-Stay as mechanical as possible and avoid washer/dryers which are as complex as a modern TV.
-Warranty yourself to the nuts if you must have the latest and greatest.
    -Never buy a washer/dryer in one unit....NEVER!

He had a twenty plus year old Sears washer/dryer, plain Jane and trouble free (cheap to fix otherwise due to the lack of complex electronics).

I bought this washer for $574 in April 2010. great deal for a front load but if replacing the circuit cost $450. I guess I am buying a new washer.
