Just get some silicon based spray grease. I used that on my coils and they've been fine through the last couple of winters and my coils didn't have a corrosion resistant coating to begin with.Originally posted by rage2
You mentioned in the other thread that you had a set of PSS9's? Shoot me a PM on how much you want for them. I'm still thinking about how to lower the car and survive the winter. Don't want to deal with seized coilovers, so I might just go with springs + dampers instead. Kinda sucks, cuz it's the same price.
btw, a Rauh-Welt inspired Porsche is the direction you should go...considering all your cars have been flat black.

OS Giken makes an excellent Porsche LSD. That should be first on the mod list IMO.Originally posted by rage2
What's up with the car coming with no LSD, or even option for LSD? You figure that it's a Porsche, stuff like that should be standard! The handling in the dry leaves much to be desired. Reminds me of my old SLK32, great fun up to the limit, then sloppy.

Hey rage2, Was that you driving like a mad man on Barlow trail around 10 in the morning yesterday? LoL
Props to you rage2. I'm sick of guys belly aching about someone enjoying there nice car in the winter. You should see the sh*t I get from people for driving a 9 K Camaro in the winter lol
since when is a camaro a nice car....?
unless it was an old well done classic
Apparently, I don't qualify because I bought a tiptronic haha. There's hundreds of LSD's available for the 996 MT, but none for AT. I've been looking!Originally posted by JZS_147

Wow..I don't know what you drive bud but I'd say a lot of people think a camaro is a nice car. My point is that a lot of people think it's sacrilege to drive there 5 - 10 K honda, nissan etc in the winter not trying to compare my car to the porsche lolOriginally posted by colinxx235

nice review rage2. definitely a cool perspective to see that this kind of car excels in daily winter conditions (not that it was never capable of it, just that very few people actually do it).
Wow. Suprised you've never owned an AWD car before. Don't know about the Porsche, but in the Audi engine braking noticeably improves the stopping distance on snow versus FWD or RWD.

The X5 i bought earlier this year really is FULLY LOADED though not a single option missing including infrared night driving
Edit: This is not the right place for this discussion, but I disagree with the above.Originally posted by zipdoa

Rage, what are you going to do on the 30cm snow days? I guess your house isn't too deep into a residential area for it to be that huge of a concern huh.
