And that's good PR to say that. But let's be real, they don't want to announce it now because it will get lost in the iPhone 4S news. They will wait until the 4S is released. Nothing to do with Jobs really other than it's a good scape goat.

Some screen shots of ICS. Looks so clean, loving the new look.

If Jobs didn't die, right now is the best time to strike with news release of a phone that's kicks 4S's spec by a mile.
You really think the announcement of a better phone following the disappointment of the 4s would get lost? I think marketing wise now would be the best time to announce it. I think you're discounting the idea that even corporations can pay tribute to one of the most influential persons in history.
Why do they call it Android 4, yet it's 3.01 Kernel?
Damn marketing people.
Um, because the kernel is the linux kernel, which google has no control over it's version numbers, and because it's the 4th major version of Android? Android and the kernel are separate.Originally posted by Xtrema

Yes, that's more accurate.Originally posted by Xtrema

ICS music player and Google + 2.0 leaked out for download. Apparently some Verizon employee who has a Nexus prime has been ripping the apks and putting them up.

Oh thank god:
SourceSurprise! There's going to be a GSM version of the next Nexus phone, which also will be coming to Verizon. Go figure, eh? Look, there are still a bunch of questions to be answered surrounding the next Nexus phone -- official name chief among them. But as we've been saying (over and over), even if Verizon has some sort of up-front U.S. exclusivity on the next hottest phone, and it might well be slightly different than the ROW devices, there absolutely will be a GSM version. That's what the rest of the world uses. And that's what just went through the FCC as the GT-i9250. Looking at the radio bands, we've got something that's compatible with AT&T, T-Mobile and Canada, among other nations.
Guess this means we can look forward to seeing it in Canada soon.
Nice looking phone.
Was there any doubt? Just like the Nexus and Nexus S it will be all over.Originally posted by Xaroxantu Zero

I meant not having to wait a few months to get a GSM version.
Are there any leaks of a release date in Canada?

Latest update:
SourceThe Samsung Galaxy S II was honoured at the T3 Gadget Awards in the UK today by becoming the “Phone of the Year”, but the talk quickly shifted to a quote by Samsung UK’s Sales Director Andrew Glass. The Samsung exec not only confirmed the go-to-market name of the upcoming Nexus, but reaffirmed it’ll be launching soon. Glass said that “You will have an announcement of the Nexus Prime very shortly and will be seeing it in shops sooner than you think”.
