There is definitely a tradeoff with studded tires - on pavement, I have quite a bit less traction than I had with my stock all - season tires, and there is quite a bit of road noise(my old tires were silent). That said, those are tradeoffs I'm willing to make since whenever I stop at an icey intersection, it stops, and if the tires do give away, they give away predictably and I can get it back under control pretty quickly. As far as the noise is concerned, it reaches its peak around 60 km/h, so at highway speeds, the noise is there, but its not as bad as you'd expect. Because its a random stud pattern, it sounds almost like an old big block engine (rawrawrawr -best attempt at sound effects with text :tongue: ) Only other thing I might consider is an LSD since taking off on ice, if one of the tires gives away, it becomes a one wheel burnout.

Lsd hmm, im not sure how fwd lsd would perform on snow. I was going to install lsd on my rwd corolla but figured Id wait until summer as I had previously been driving my porsche with lsd in slippery conditions and found that it spun out without much effort and was a bit frightening on the highway when things got slick.Originally posted by 1badPT

I DID have all emblems (hood star, rear star and AMG trunk badge) painted body color when I did the AMG spoiler, front bumper and grille paintwork. Now, though I have a Carlsson flat hood badge to match my summer wheels cause some fuckers ripped off my hood star at Chinook just before xmas...
