Default Any idea whats leaking from this pipe? pics inside

Truck is a new 2011 ford f150 ecoboost. Noticed the leak this morning when I started the car. It leaked for a minute or two, not leaking anymore.

I let it drip on a white piece of paper and also touched it, seems like its just water. Is it worth taking it in to get it looked at?

    Thanks

When the exhaust pipe is cold, water vapor will condense as the exhaust cools on the pipe. After the pipe heats up, the vapor will not condense.

Remember that the combustion of hydrocarbon fuel produces both carbon dioxide AND water vapor as a normal part of the process. All gasoline engines produce water vapor and all water vapor condenses if the exhaust pipe is cool.

Could be condensation from the air conditioning as well.

If it looks/feels like water it is probably just water so I wouldn't worry about it. Engine oil, transmission fluid, diff fluid, brake fluid, antifreeze and power steering fluid (have I hit them all? ) are a lot harder to mistake for water than one would think, so if you are questioning it then it's probably just water.

A couple good tests to set your mind at ease are to pour some water on it, if it's oil you will see instant rainbows, or just let it sit overnight, if it is decently warm out and still looks wet the next day then it might be something to be concerned about. You could also do the taste test to rule out anti freeze but I don't recommend that unless you're dumb like me.

But from the sounds of it you are just looking at some condensation.
