    Default Exercises for leg muscles

Im looking for exercises that can help me build some good leg muscles. I have weights but not alot of equipment so i'm not sure what the best exercises i could do.

I only have equipment mostly for the upper body such as bench press, dumb bells, etc.

I am wondering what are some good leg exercises i can with or without weights with little to no equipment?

    thanks

Sorry for the hijack, but it's related. what about exercises for the quads? I have bad knees and my therapist tells me leg extensions put a lot of tension on the knees

Squats are the all time best exercise for your legs. Well at least your quads and Glutes. Make sure you get taught proper technique, because if you are doing it wrong and bump up too much weight, you will hurt your lower back (know from personal experience).

There are many variations of squats to try, you could goggle them. A personal goal of mine is to be able to do full range pistol squats (on one leg) with some weight (~40-50 lbs).

Also depends what your goal is, if you want muscle endurance, go for between 12-20 reps with 3 sets. If you just want to gain muscle mass and strength, do anything from 3 sets of 8, to 5 sets of 5.

How would I attempt squats at home? Would I have to have the bar on a higher support in order to get it started?

You need either a full squat rack or a half rack.

I know Talisman has 4 cages if you want to go test it out there.

The goblet squat is great for at home, if you have dumbells. no need for a squat rack

In my personal exp deadlift is king of leg movements

    With that being said
    Squats
    Lunges or Jump Lunges
    Deadlifts
Sumo Deadlift (with bar or DB)
    Glute Ham Raises
Btw no need for a rack to do front squats or thrusters

Jk, squats, deads. If you lack dumbels, barbels try jump squats and then one legged pistols

Another thing to remember if you are trying to build muscle is to eat a lot. 80% of what you gain comes from outside the gym (aka in your kitchen, the food you eat). So head over to bodybuilding.com and check out some of their nutrition articles if you want to see real progress.

Best way to build proper leg muscles, all the exercises mentioned, plus bulgarian split squat.

The real key is ACTUAL proper form. 95% of people do them wrong.
