Poverty creates pretty sick people.

But this isn't anything that doesn't happen in wealthy areas, I heard about a report about a man who was involved in a roll-over who died in Calgary. Supposedly the crash happened a significant amount of time before anyone helped the poor guy.

Ok I can sit through watching clips of people getting shot, decapitated, pics of guts all over the place, but I cannot sit through that vid. I couldn't watch after she was run over. TWICE. Seriously... WTF...

The second driver was arrested but the first driver who hit her is still being sought after. There was a "glare" which caused his license plate to be unreadable.

Source in Chinese: The girl suffered severe traumatic brain injury along with a fractured femur & legs, and has been pronounced brain dead. The prognosis is very poor, the most optimistic estimate for her is a vegetative state, without respiratory support, that is no autonomous breathing, so she can only survive with breathing machines attached. The impact from the first car had slammed her head to the ground so hard she received cranial fractures and crushed brain stems which has damaged the respiratory and circulatory areas of the brain.

As to where the mother was, apparently she was going to the toilet inside a store. She had not known that Yue Yue had left the store (Possibly to wander around and play). The mother looked for her in a few stalls before hearing the garbage woman's cries.

Update 2 As pointed out by Stormflux : The girl has died from her brain injuries, both drivers have been detained. The first driver knew he hit her but he was afraid of getting in trouble if he stopped.

Very messed up; but this isn't 'poor areas' this happens in Calgary too (luckily not with 2yo's who've been run over).

Spend enough time on the bar strips at night - you'll see people passed out in the roadway - and you'll watch the crowds keep walking; not wanting to get involved, and drivers just weaving on by like it's some cardboard on the road...
