Ditto on those thinking this is a bad idea. I understand the "dramatic effect" of actually crushing a car - but it could have been sold off for a pretty penny to help their poor economic situation. Dumb.

Wow, my state is already hurting for money and they are doing this. So instead of donating the car to Cars for Kids, where they sell the car and use the proceeds for at risk children, they spend additional money to pay someone to crush a car.

I've never seen a video like this of this this law... was this IS-F the first car to ever street race in Cali? I'm surpised I haven't seen other car models being crushed.

If they wanted to be really strict about it. Not only auction the cars off, but enter them in a database saying they can never be registered in California again. They could have a database not unlike a Salvage title one.

so you say why not part them out?

Same reason, police know that the sweet little B16 will end up in yet another foot heavy tuner thus crushing cars sounded like the best idea...
