Default Car thief locks himself in stolen Corvette

    Hey guys

This is by far the funniest car-related story I've seen in a long time.

    Bounjour mes amies,

A 20-year old Prince George man is facing numerous theft-related charges after a botched car theft attempt Sunday afternoon that featured a comedy of errors, including locking himself in the car.

At 3:10 p.m. RCMP were called to a home on Francois Crescent by a Corvette owner reporting a man with an axe was attempting to steal the man’s car from his driveway.

Corporal Craig Douglass says the owner of the car had just jump-started the battery and was putting the charger back in his garage when a young man allegedly jumped in the running Corvette. He then locked the power locks, shut the power windows and attempted to drive away.

The thief, however, was not able to drive a manual transmission and stalled the Corvette when he attempted to reverse out of the driveway. He couldn’t restart the car because the battery was dead, which also made the power windows and locks inoperable.

The thief had locked himself inside the Corvette and the owner called 9-1-1.

The thief was armed with bear spray so the owner could not take any action against the man. Corporal Douglass adds the car thief then tried to break the window of the Corvette with the owner’s Club, but was not successful. He then attempted to break out of the car with a hatchet that he had in a backpack, but again, was unable to break the window.

When police arrived, the suspect had allegedly just smashed the driver side window and was attempting to get out of the car. The thief, Brent Jameson Morgan, 20, of Prince George, was arrested without incident.

Police say all Morgan had to do to escape the Corvette was manually unlock the door by sliding the lock button.

He has been charged with mischief under $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of break in instruments and theft under $5,000.

Correct but there is also a manual over-ride beside the door sill on all C6 Corvettes to open the door from the inside.

    Yeah, the Vette's do that.

Davenport programs the vette dashboard displays to read "You Roach" lol.

My buddy bought one of Steve's old personal cars, and did the same. Locked himself in, didn't know there was an manual release, got the "You Roach" message, and was attempting to crawl out the trunk when another buddy popped by and rescued him lmao.

What's with the list of charges?

Either the Judge thinks that the Corvette<$5000, or the Liberal prick really likes to see the correction system process these criminals like diarrhea and back on the streets of Prince George.

It is a sad age that we live in when the manual transmission is more successful in stopping thieves than the car alarm.

Maybe the Corvette is really old and in bad shape, so really is worth less than $5000, or maybe Markham got the charge wrong. Who knows?
