    Default Adult Soccer Lessons

Anyone know where you can take soccer lessons for adults? I need to brush up on my soccer skills and just want to take like a two day skills class or camp. All the classes I seem to be able to find are for kids.

I think the best way to do this is to find a team that is hosting tryouts and to go to them.

Good teams always run their tryouts through the regular practice routines which include drills and then scrimmage.

No offence but i doubt good teams would want someone who just wants to brush up on their soccer skills at their practices.

My team would only keep those guys around for one practice. Plus it gets pretty embarrassing for the "less skilled" when they are constantly getting owned by everyone else. It's no good for your confidence.

OP, your best bet is to join a low level or a coed league team and just get back into it by playing. Most of those teams are just there for the beer afterwards and to socialize. Also, the soccer centre does some kind of lunch hour drop in soccer.

Once you get the rust out, you can work your way up through.

edit: AFAIK, there are no classes for adults in Calgary.

Well from what the OP is saying, he's not looking for a long-term deal anyway. Sounds like he wants 1-2 sessions of drills, which is typical of tryout formats. Depends on the team I guess.

The most important thing to do if you haven't played for a while is to work on your fitness. Working on your touch and skills won't mean anything if you're gasping for breath after doing warm-up laps.

I've always wondered what the market is for adult training camps for sports. Sorta like beer leagues but rather than just throwing people on the court/field/pitch/rink, there's a focus on skill development so that it's not trial by fire.

Has anyone ever looked into adult lessons for other sports? Just curious.

EDIT: NCHL's Discover Hockey would be a good example but for other sports like soccer, basketball, football flag/touch), etc
