$1800 is nothing. On my old S4, I rear ended someone at about 3 km/h, did hardly any visible damage whatsoever, nothing past the bumper, and the fix was $10,000. 2 headlight assemblies made up half of that alone. There was a million little clips and clasps, each like $13. Insurance was really nice to me and replaced them "just in case" even though no visible damage to the headlights.
That said, I have a huge problem buying vehicles with ANY repairs because I am so anal. There are enough vehicles out there that you can find one without an accident, or get a better discount on the one that has been repaired.

I was recently involved in an accident at a stop light where a commercial 1996 International truck neutral rolled forward rear ending me. He hit me twice but it was light ass taps.
$2400 in repairs. I was quite surprised it was that much in damage. So glad insurance went ahead with repairs as I was very scared they were going to write it off cuz of market value of my car.

Anything under 5-6K is nothing to I believe. Cars these days get to that level fairly easily.
1800 for a 2010 SUV is absolutely nothing. Why don't you ask the owner of the vehicle to provide you with a picture of before the repair?
thats nothing on my 1999 4runner someone hit it from the front and it needed bumper cover, right headlight, grill, right fender and it came out to just about 2500.
1,800 is nothing. shouldn't be a big concern.
Insurance Pro
For a $30-40K vehicle, $1800 is very minor. If it was a 92 Honda Civic then very big deal

Agreed. As the stories on here attest it takes seemingly nothing to get close to 5 digit repair figures. $1827 is nothing.Originally posted by shakalaka

1. $531.91 for bumper R&R, prep, paint, enviro fees and tax.
2. $715.21 for the new unpainted bumper from Toyota.
3. $579.88 for UPS brokerage fees to get new bumper delivered to shop.

Rear ended some broad in a Toyota Prius.
Her damage on her car bumber at $2700:
Just a huge scratch too...no internal damage.
Damage on my Lexus RX330 at $1700:
Mine just needed to be repainted, and that was $1700 with labour to remove the bumber and foglight, then repaint the bumper and reinstall everything.
So is $1800 a lot of damage? Maybe like 15 years ago yes, but now...it's like a scratched bumper.
