    Default Honda Prelude BB6 alternator belt

    Picked up a lude tonight and it needs a alternator belt, just wondering how hard it is to DIY and where and how much i can get a belt for?

    Belts can be bought anywhere like part source, auto value and I'm sure Honda will have some laying around. As for the install it's quite simple, loosen 2 tensioner bolts, slip belt off, put new one on and retighten tensioner bolts. Just get a service manual if you are not familiar with it.

    alright thanks man! and i read on the prelude forums that its best to get the water pump changed cause there on the same pullies?

    Water pump is much more complicated, you would change that with the timing belt. If you are unsure on changing an alternator belt, I would leave the timing belt and waterpump to a mechanic to do for you.
